Radiant Reading

2019 calls for a new look and this page is going to be the page that gets it the most. As a sort of New Year's resolution, I made a promise to myself that I would read more. I hadn't been able to do as much due to personal and family matters in 2018 but I am changing that.

Each month, I will be posting which books I have read and a small little review of each one. I hope you all like the new page and do let me know what books you are loving at the moment!

Books I Read in January

Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan
I had seen the film but never picked up the book before viewing it. Very similar, but with a whole host of new content and character building, if you enjoyed the on-screen action, then you will love the novel too.

This is Going to Hurt: Secret Diaries of a Junior Doctor by Adam Kay
Call it morbid curiosity or just an everyday interest, but I am always fascinated by the work our NHS staff do. This inside look at several areas within a hospital shows the true emotional strains they faced in a comedic but brutally honest way. Kay's reason for leaving the role at the end is truly heart-breaking.

The Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris
My friend Issy was the one who told me about this book, and I am so grateful she did. Once I got started, I couldn't put it down and finished it within a day. Sharing the harrowing story of one man's experience in a concentration camp, the love story within the book sparks hope in even the darkest times.
