Good Afternoon Lovelies,
Disney is delighting us this week with film news galore! There are only a few weeks left until we get to see the hopefully beautiful live-action version of The Lion King and to get us all just that little bit more prepared, Disney has released some new posters! Plus, an extra special teaser.
With The Avengers having brought together the lives of actors Tom Holland and Chris Pratt, the pair are now returning to the big screen in animated form, in Onward lovelies, thanks to Disney and Pixar!
Directed by Dan Scanlon, the film captures two teenage elf brothers, who decide to go on an epic journey to find out whether there is any magic really left on Earth. I honestly hope that Holland, who plays Ian Lightfoot against Pratt’s older brother Barley, lets out a lot of spoilers for this because it looks super cute.
Due out in March 2020, check out the first teaser below lovelies:
I’m going to admit something big now lovelies. Well, it is the weekend after all. But I have never seen a Rambo film! I don’t know how it is possible that I haven’t with my brothers, who love them, but I have never seen one.
That might change this year though, because, on the 20th September, Sylvester Stallone is back after almost four decades with Rambo: Last Blood. Also starring, Paz Vega, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, Adrianna Barraza, Yvette Monreal, Genie Kim aka Yenah Han, Joaquin Cosio and Oscar Jaenada, the film has been directed by Adrian Grunberg and will take us on John Rambo’s final mission.
One that from the looks of the trailer below will be ruthless, deadly and full of vengeance, as it marks the last in the series:
Gavin and Stacey to me will always be one of the best sitcoms around. I adore everyone in it. I can pinpoint someone to match a member of my family and I believe that Pam is one of the greatest characters of all time. So, when it was announced this morning that it would be returning after nine years for a Christmas special this December, I couldn’t help but do a very excited jump for joy. Literally.
I have missed them more than I have missed members of my own family. I want to know so much. I want to see how they have grown. Mostly, I want them to answer the questions that have been on my mind since the show ended.
There are many in fact that I hope they address. Most that could lead to a whole series being built (praise be), but here are just a few of what I want to know during the 2019 special:
Did Nessa and Dave really not have a bathroom in their caravan? – I grew up on caravan holidays. We even had one of our own and whilst it wasn’t the fanciest, it had a shower area. So, I want to know how did Nessa and Dave’s not have one? Re-watch the episodes they feature it in, and I am certain they wouldn’t have had to do that walk to the bathroom every day. A weird question I know, but it has always stuck out to me.
What will have become of Doris? – Sadly, the legendary actress who played Doris passed away not long after the show ended. I am interested in seeing how this is going to be explored in the special, because whilst she wasn’t in it much, she left her mark.
Will we ever know what happened on the fishing trip? – With so much left unsaid, this was one question that was left opened and we need to know what the truth really is. Come on Bryn, just tell us!
What will they be like as parents and grandparents? – We might have seen Nessa and Smithy as parents, but we haven’t seen Gavin and Stacey. Will they have only had the one? Was it twins? Have they got a whole football team? Did Nessa and Smithy have any more? Are they even together? I honestly feel like I need a lie-down and all the answers to these questions ASAP.
Finally, who will be hosting the big Christmas day meal? And will Pam still be eating meat? – In 2007, vegetarianism and veganism weren’t as big as they are now. Will Pam have reverted to being a vegetarian again? Will more of the characters be joining her? It will surely make for an interesting topic when it comes to who is hosting the event. We have had an Essex Christmas day, but will we now be getting a Welsh one? I need answers!
What do you hope the new Christmas special answers lovelies? Let me know!
Good Morning Lovelies,
Never has Nicole Kidman been seen like this. After a tremendous few years, she is at the top of her game in Destroyer. A role that presents her in a way that you will not be expecting but will love every minute of.
Set 17 years after an undercover operation involving her went wrong, police detective Erin Bell (Nicole Kidman) is left facing the consequences of the case still. When she hears that Silas (Toby Kebbell), the leader of the gang she infiltrated, is back and seeking revenge, Erin looks and seeks to get what she has always wanted - Justice. No matter what the results or cost of that may be.
Stripped back and raw, Kidman gives a career-defining portrayal of a woman who strives to get what she wants in a powerful and compelling way. If there is any reason to watch the film, it is her take on director Karyn Kusama’s story. Every movement. Every storyline. Every piece of the plot captured through close shots of a figure you have to keep reminding yourself is Kidman affects you.
It is a film that will remain with you even when the credits are long gone. Reflecting a world that doesn’t seem real in many ways, it shows the brutality and longing for justice in a refreshing manner that will delight all.
Equally as enrapturing as her turn in Big Little Lies, Kidman is redefining her career one feature at a time and this is one that you must watch. There so, I am giving it…
I have a confession. Well, not really a confession, more of an obsession. If you have been reading this blog for a while then you will know that I adore H&M. To me, it is the top of the high street. The fashion leader. Much of my wardrobe and the joke I have with friends about where my clothes have come from.
A few weeks ago, the franchise announced plans to launch a new Stranger Things collection. I tried to avoid the adverts. I tried to not look online. But then like that Lee Evans sketch, I was pulled into my local shop by an unknown force yesterday and took it in.
Based on the upcoming series and summer, the whole collection is set around a lifeguard theme. Nothing like Baywatch might I add. Shorts, cropped tops and even sliders featuring the Netflix show make it up and I want it all. Below are just some of the pieces that I just can’t stop thinking about:
Stranger Things Pool Shoes/Sliders: I am someone who only really wears sliders around the house, as I have a bit of an issue with feet. With the new series meaning I am going to be spending time in my house watching it, I think it is only fair that these join in.
Hawkins Boxy Printed T-shirt: I will be honest and say I probably won’t buy this, but I do really like it. I am not a huge fan of cropped tops, however, the reason I adore this one is the cool print on the top. Anyone else thinking of the arcade scenes?
Hawkins Pool Side-striped Sweatshirt Shorts: I want these more than I want anything else out of the collection. I simply love them and when I saw them in the shop yesterday, I could already picture them joining my binge-watching weekend outfits.
Hawkins Pool Swimsuit: I don’t remember the last time I went swimming. Yet this swimsuit is making me want to book a holiday and head out into the sunshine for a dip.
Stranger Things Demogorgon T-Shirt: At first glance, I thought this top was covered in flowers, but when I got up close with it and saw the real design, it totally won me over.
Hawkins Pool Vest Top: I wish that they had this in the woman’s section, although I would still wear it. Perfect with the shorts or over a swimming costume, lifeguard fashion is finally cool and complete.
I am hiding my debit card as we speak (secretly clicking buy) because I feel like I am fangirling too much. However, those sliders and shorts are too good. And I mean they would be super comfy to watch the new series in too! Who’s with me?
Good Afternoon Lovelies,
Today feels like one of those days where I need Disney. I need it in all forms. Clothes, films, TV shows, you name it and I need it! As a self-confessed Disney addict, nothing brings me more joy than sharing news about it.
Toy Story 4 is fast approaching and with all the excitement for it, a final trailer has landed and to quote Buzz Lightyear, it will take you to, “infinity and beyond.” Catch it below lovelies:
I am not going to lie I am truly buzzing for this film! No pun intended!
Good Afternoon Lovelies,
How are we all today? I am currently in a world of work, films and blogging, so do bear with me this week aha! If only I had grown up in the world of Downton Abbey and the glitz and glam! A girl can dream right?!? To be fair, from the looks of the show and the upcoming drama, I am not sure if it would be any less drama filled, to be honest aha!
There is a point to all my rambling I promise because the first teaser trailer for the film has landed and it is going to make any Downton Abbey fans out there excited. Featuring the original cast, the film is due out on the 13th September and looks set to be an epic affair:
Over the years we have witnessed the rise of two incredible actresses. Taking the big screen in both hands and making every role their own, Saoirse Ronan and Margot Robbie, have led the way in creating female roles with power, charm and attention. So, it is very fitting that the pair were cast to tell the tale of two queens and their fight for the rights to their lands and religion.
Directed by Josie Rourke, Mary Queen of Scots (out today on DVD, digitally and Blu-ray) is an incredible feature, following the return of the widowed Mary Queen Of Scots (Ronan), as she comes home to her native Scotland to take up her throne and the relationship she has with her cousin Queen Elizabeth (Robbie), who is threatened by the new Catholic ruler.
Unlike The Favourite or other classic dramas that have followed the path and stories of other monarchs, Mary Queen of Scots is a relatable and reliable story. Even with the addition of a meeting between the two queens that never really took place. They are two figures who are facing the rules and regulations of the men around them and fighting to be heard on their own. Both ending up with a horrific conclusion.
From the moment we meet Ronan’s Mary, Rouke and her leading lady make sure audiences know that she is not someone to be messed with. Religion being the key reason. As she fights for her faith and lands, those around her – mainly men – build even more armies to take her down. The people she chooses to help her included. Something that pleases Robbie’s Elizabeth, who after a tragic illness struggles to rule the same way again.
Yet, the two women are often drawn to one another and this is the most appealing aspect of the feature. As an audience, you seek to see how the pair will join. You seek to know what correspondence they had between them. When it comes to a powerful sequence amongst a large set of curtains, you are ready to burst with what you know will happen but seek to see.
Their draw to one another is the same as what makes you drawn in as a viewer. Flowing quickly though, the magic in which this scene could have had is lost and we are soon moved onto what we already know will happen historically.
Rouke, Ronan and Robbie are a brilliant trio, yet with the knowledge, we have already got and the adaptations we’ve already seen, there is a sense of familiarity at times. Yet, this doesn’t make the film unwatchable and in lots of ways, it shows the strength of the story. If added details had just been missed out it would have been better.
Good Morning Lovelies,
Starring a British comedy hero, Warren, the latest series from the BBC featuring Martin Clunes, follows a driving instructor who believes the world is against him. Taking on the troubling world of his learners and suffering from a mid-life crisis, Clunes’ Warren is a lovable figure.
When his partner Anne’s (Lisa Millett) dad falls ill, Warren moves alongside her to Preston, where he must learn to navigate the roads again. Unable to get on with many, including the two stepsons he never wanted, Warren faces the daily struggles of tolerating those he works with. All of which leads him into some very sticky situations.
It is uncertain whether this series will be returning, but it is a true British comedy. Full of what we all know and love, it is reminiscent of the modern hits that the BBC has long made and features a true comical legend. After many years of serious acting, Clunes is back at the BBC with a new look and a new sense of comedy power that really makes this show stand out.
Much like a needed hug, the series is fun and a delight to watch, earning it this…
I won’t lie. When I first saw Chimerica advertised on Channel 4 I thought it was going to be a show right up my street. However, the four-part series ended up being of a surprise than anything I could have ever imagined and it is now out on DVD and digitally today.
Set in China’s Tiananmen Square in 1989, each episode captures Lee Berger (Alessandro Nivola), a young American photojournalist, as he snaps the pieces of history he sees. Yet, upon taking images one day, he is faced with the rolling in of tanks and soldiers at his hotel. All of which leading to a jump, 20 years in the future, as he follows a corrupted presidential election. Something which ends up being the least of his worries, when a message appears in a Chinese newspaper, which leads him on a journey back to find out who the man in a photo within the paper is.
Each episode is filled with tense drama that pushes every boundary possible. Both the viewers and the on-screen characters. Based on Lucy Kirkwood’s award-winning play, the series is a real look at fake news and how it came to be. Even in a time when the news wasn’t covering it as much as it does today.
There is a real push to show that the world and all that we know isn’t and hasn’t always been as we may see it. There is a difference in what we do and what we want to believe and Chimerica will make you reflect on this, days after watching. Especially with the addition of real-life events taking place on-screen.
The show is intelligent, clever and gripping no matter if you follow the news or not. Each aspect of life is shown in a new way. Every element of what you thought you knew about it is questioned. Fake news or not, the show highlights a time before and the present to give us the power to think. A power to reflect. A power to question what we truly see. Even when the moments on screen are fake, it all feels very real.
Tonight, we are forgetting all about Brexit! We are forgetting all about what we think may be mad and crazy! Because for one night only (or always if you want to aha!), we are embracing the world of Eurovision 2019!
Eurovision was something I came to late in life. When I was in school a friend of mine invited me to a Eurovision party and my love for it came from there. I love the weird outfits. I love how we always come home with nearly NIL POINTS and I love how into it we all become.
From 8pm tonight, I will be watching along with the world, as BBC One airs the grand finale, with the fabulous Graham Norton hosting again to see what Europe and Australia have in store for us. Yet, before all of this, we must ensure that we have the perfect party ready. Below is the ultimate checklist to help you get all you will need to be sorted in time:
Good Food and Drinks: No Eurovision party is complete without the addition of some great snacks and drinks for the party to enjoy. In the UK right now, the weather isn’t looking too good for a BBQ, however, why not bring it indoors? Head to your local supermarket or check your freezers/fridges lovelies and put together the perfect Eurovision spread. To make it even more fun, ask people to bring a dish from the country they have picked in a sweepstake or give them a place to bring.
Decorate and Rate: Any Eurovision event, whether it is a full-on party or a simple screening, calls for flags and decorations. Print out some flags and hang them up on a bit of string to make your own cheap bunting or get guests to come up with the perfect decorations in full support of who they have chosen in the sweepstake or want to win. Also, ensure you have party poppers and some confetti to spread out when the winner is announced. To help, the BBC have also got some great party packs for free.
Schedule Your TV Ready: Before 8pm even reaches us, make sure to schedule and get your TV ready. Yes, the football may be on just before it, but Eurovision comes first tonight lovelies! Who else is with me?!?
Get to Know Who is Who: If you have already done the sweepstake or are not sure who to watch out for and who to miss (we will need loo breaks), take a few moments to learn about this year’s contestants. Iceland is one you should Google right now lovelies.
Buy a Sweepstake Prize: Don’t forget to buy a sweepstake prize if you have agreed to get one. Have some fun and head to our local supermarket or look online and get cooking and create a European hamper to ensure lots of fun. Or use the money put into the sweepstake as a prize instead.
Who will you be looking out for? And who do you want to win? Whatever you are doing or whoever you are supporting lovelies, I can ensure no one will be giving you nil points for your Eurovision party this year!
How are you doing? No really how are you doing? When was the last time someone asked you this lovelies? I hope that you get asked every day and that the person who asks is truly the best of listeners. Today marks the end of National Mental Health Awareness Week and to mark it I wanted to ask you how you are and to share a little follow up on how everything is going since we last spoke about my eating disorder and anxiety.
Daily it is a struggle. I can see the way that my family sometimes doesn’t ask me questions about it. I have had people talk about my condition with me still sat in the room, even though they act like I am not. I have had people tell me that I should just, “eat lots of cake,” and I have had many employers ask me questions that in no way should be asked or said in the way that they have.
However, with every struggle, I have tried to rise above it. I attend weekly sessions with an amazing therapist, who has listened to everything I have had to say, made the changes I needed and supported me. My doctor continues to help me as much as possible and makes sure that the CBT and diet advice I am getting is helpful. Speaking of which, my dietician is an absolute babe and I don’t know what I would do without her.
Family wise I understand it is hard. They saw me before my illness, and they are seeing me now. My mum is my absolute rock. She admits she doesn’t understand it all, but she tries. She tells me things honestly and she makes me open up when I get home. My dad does his best but sometimes he says the wrong things and it feels like a kick in the teeth. Right now, in fact, he is in a bad mood and is being unhelpful with me going to an appointment in an hour’s time. My brothers try, but also, I know that because they are not here all the time, they don’t get it fully.
I’m progressing slowly and I will put my hands up and say I have had lots of setbacks. Losing my job last year has had more of an impact than I thought. Since January I have had three jobs, one in which made me wait a long time for a health meeting that they didn’t fully take on board. Another which didn’t suit my needs and the one I currently have is messing me around in that I haven’t heard from my manager on whether he wants me to work for them still in nearly a week. These stressful moments do tend to make me lose weight and it is heart-breaking to witness when I am trying so hard to get my head around the need to gain it.
But as I said I am getting there in small ways. I am trying foods again that scare the hell out of me. Pasta, dried fruits, different vegetables, mixing meals up a bit and trying new ways to cook it all. I have been baking again for my family and experimenting in the kitchen, and whilst it isn’t for me, it is a good way of getting used to foods again. Something my therapist and dietician have praised me for.
I am reading again. I am writing more. I am being more inspired to meet new people and to go out. I am thinking of starting my own business if the job doesn’t work out. Mostly I am keeping my head up high. Going to therapy isn’t something I like. I don’t like looking at the mirror or hearing people tell me they can see my bones or that I have lost my muscles. I don’t like having to cut back my working hours because of the little annoying voice in my head. I don’t like spending hours exercising or standing on scales.
But I am looking forward to the future because I know that by speaking out, I am not only helping myself but my future. These things will one day not be a battle but the fight I won. I just need to remember that slow and steady wins the race. I’m like the Avengers, the build-up all leads to something epic. The Endgame and I’m Captain America.
If you are reading this and need some support, I urge you to go to your local support group or GP and ask for it. Do not suffer in silence my lovelies, because your voice is important. No matter whether the issue is big or small – it matters! Even if you want to DM me on social media or leave a comment below, I will always reply, because I want you to be able to express your mental health issues and to get the love and care you need.
Though today marks the end of National Mental Health AwarenessWeek, it is not the end of speaking out and I want you to know that I am here to help. I may be battling something, but it has inspired me to help others so much. I want to be there for all of you and I want to help you with your recovery if I can. So, please after reading this or even during reach out for help or speak to those around you who may need it and get it lovelies. I am going to leave this post here with one message. You are loved, cherished, important and supported always!
I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream! Okay not really, but I think you will be walking with me into a dream in just a moment, as the first trailer for Maleficent: Mistress of Evil has landed!
Due out on the 18th October, the Disney fantasy adventure picks up several years after the first film, capturing the tense relationship between the evil villain and the soon to be Queen, as they join forces to protect their land and the creatures who live on it.
Directed by Joachim Rønning, it is going to be one dark delight lovelies, from the looks of the trailer below:
Forget everything you thought you knew about the world of Transformers because Bumblebee is here to change it all. Unlike the previous five from director Michael Bay, this retro-filled feature from director Travis Knight shows us what the world of the cars/robots should be like.
Set 20 years before the events of the first film from Bay, Dylan O’Brien’s voiced Bumblebee lands on Earth and ends up without a voice and in a junkyard. Until local teenager, Charlie, played by Hailee Steinfield, hauls him away and tries to help him adapt to the 80s way of life. All whilst the pair try to stop the Decepticon’s from taking over the planet.
Nothing, only the infamous car, feels the same in this version of Transformer events. Knight’s vision is new, exciting and promising for a franchise that has taken a true dip after the first feature. With the mixture of the 80s setting, music and nostalgia-ridden story, the plot comes to life in a way that will have those who watched the original animation remembering what the bots used to be like. Appreciating it the entire time too.
O’Brien’s classic voice is one people will always remember too, yet it is the new star of the film, Steinfield who people will be reflecting on more. Truly taking on board the innocence of the character and the world she now faces, there is a fresh and fun outlook that brings a sense of youth to all watching. Even the youngest of faces.
She manages to make the features fun again, whilst also ensuring that we don’t lose the drama that the bots are known for facing. Drama that doesn’t slack off but is more mature and watchable than the all-out numbers seen before.
Although not everything has changed, with the addition of Steinfield and a new director leading the way, the Transformers franchise has, well, transformed itself into a more promising one. One that we can all finally get on board with. Ready, set, go with this…
For me, Keira Knightley is an actress we have grown up with, watching as she too grows up. From Bend It Like Beckham to Atonement, her filmography is a diverse mix of drama and light-hearted features that all become enrapt with when watching. In her latest screen outing in Colette (out today on DVD and digitally), she plays Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette, a newly married woman to egomaniac Willy (Dominic West), who begins to discover herself under the bright lights of Paris life.
Amazed by the world around her, Colette begins to write novels, which Willy forces her to publish under his name, leaving her unsatisfied with life. One that becomes high up, after the success of her Claudine series makes him famous amongst the elite.
As well as her marriage, which is filled with cheating and Colette’s search to understand her sexuality. Forming bonds with the women around her, she seeks comfort in Missy (Denise Gough), causing Willy to resort to revenge on their relationship. But she is not one to let him win.
Based on the true story of the female legend, the film begins in a way many classic period dramas’ do. Colette stands waving off Willy at the door, looking at him longingly, already seeming to wait for his return. Until two minutes later when the scene flips into a modern take on the genre, with the pair running off to have sex in a barn. Old in theme but the camera shots and dialogue are all fresh. A theme that runs throughout the film.
Colette is presented as a rebel. She knows what she wants, and she knows how to get it. A refreshing take on a figure many won’t know of but will take inspiration from. Wrapped up in the world of Parisian beauty and grace, her actions are far from the norm and she makes it work. Although she does what society asks of her - such as marrying a man she doesn’t truly understand - she breaks away from it to show audiences it is okay to be yourself.
In normal on-screen features of this type, Colette would have been the one enjoying the Parisian life while her husband leads the way in making changes and decisions. But this film highlights the importance of showing a powerful woman leading the way. Something that is down to not only the story but the casting.
Knightley and West are a great pair and their on-screen actions play off well with each other. From tender moments at the start to the revenge ridden ending, they know how to make their characters marriage appear real and authentic. Even when it is breaking down. They get the script and they make every word and line of it pop out.
Director Wash Westmoreland has made a feature that feels light, even when touching on heavy subjects. He presents a romance, a drama, a break-up, a discovery and a rapture in many ways to audiences in a feature that refreshes an old state genre. Period pieces are finally moving in a new direction and this is one of the best of the bunch.
Back in 2015, Deutschland 83 hit the Sundance Film Festival to rave reviews. Now after three long years, the German Cold War drama is back with Deutschland 86 (out now on DVD and digitally) and it is just as big as the shoulder pads before.
Returning for a second outing, Stasi agent Martin (Jonas Nay) and his spy auntie Lenora (Maria Schrader), as they tackle the realities of Germany during the early 80s. Taking on politics and war, against the backdrop of an epic 80s soundtrack, the 10-part series captures how Martin is living since being banished for his sinful ways. Deciding to get away, they head to Africa, Europe and finally home to try and drum up some hard currency. However, nothing is as easy as it seems, and a kidnapping takes place before long.
To begin with, the show doesn’t have the same sense of fight in which the opening episodes of the first series did. However, it isn’t long before it catches up. Schrader is at the top of her game in this season and it really reflects off onto Nay, who again captures Martin in a thrilling light that makes the show easy to binge on.
Even though the show is full of darkness, the creators have made some epic TV moments through their choice of song in selected scenes. No one could deny that the power of music is what drives each episode and the characters emotions. In many ways, it feels as though the writers have written each episode around the song that will play within it. The key song that is.
German TV is still rising and with this second series again highlighting the power of it, there is no denying that it will soon be taking over. Something we should all embrace and look forward to. 83 is long gone, bring on 86 with this epic…
Get ready to sing and dance into the weekend lovelies, because the first trailer for Judy, starring Renee Zellweger as Judy Garland!
Set in the winter of 1968, the film captures Judy Garland arriving in Swinging London to perform in a sell-out run at The Talk of the Town. 30 years on from her performance in The Wizard of Oz, her voice has changed however, leading to drama within herself and with those around her. Faced with issues from her management, she works to charm those around her whilst reuniting with fans, friends and her soon to be fifth husband Mickey Deans. Yet after working in the industry for 45 years out of her 47, she s tired and fragile from the childhood memories that haunt her. Plus, her desire to be back home with her children.
Speaking about the film, director Rupert Goold, said, “I had always wanted to make a film that explores great performance and its cost. The most fertile ground for such exploration seemed to be at the end of a lifetime of performance. For over 40 years Judy Garland had laughed and loved and entertained no matter what life threw at her, and her public adored her for it. But she paid a price in a childhood lost to Hollywood, an emotional exhaustion and a yearning for a “normal” life beyond the rainbow. It is a powerful and moving story that I hope will inspire new audiences to discover Judy Garland’s joyous legacy.
I felt Renee was uniquely qualified to play Judy. First, because she is a great, Oscar-winning dramatic actress. Second, she is a wonderful comedienne. And third, I knew from Chicago that she could sing. I made it clear to Renee that I wasn’t looking for an impersonation of Judy Garland’s inimitable voice, but what I wanted was for Renee to make the songs her own and this she did to thrilling effect.”
Check out the new trailer for the film due out on the 4th October 2019 below:
What do we all think of Renee as Judy Garland lovelies?
And how are you all on this chilly night? I am about to make the night a little bit darker because the first teaser for IT Chapter Two has landed and it is everything your nightmares are made of! Honestly, if you see a drain or a red balloon tomorrow run from it.
Due out 6th September 2019, the film captures the evil resurfacing, as the Losers Club reunites, but now as adults, to face the evil Pennywise who haunted them when they were younger. Starring Jessica Chastain as Beverly, James McAvoy as Bill, Bill Hader as Richie, Isaiah Mustafa as Mike, Jay Ryan as Ben, James Ransone as Eddie, and Andy Bean as Stanley, they will be joined by the original young cast and Bill Skarsgård who is back as the evil Pennywise.

Who else will be sleeping with a light on tonight? Bloody clowns!
Shopping is something I enjoy but also struggle with. I find going into clothes shops very hard and disorientating at times, leading me to online stores. There is nothing better than on a cold wet day sitting in and having a good old browse online.
One of the reasons I love it is because my style is very all over the place. Some days I want to dress up in a jumpsuit. Others I want to kick back in leggings, sportswear and cosy jumpers. Actually, this is probably how you will find my 99% of the time, but there is the odd occasion.
Another is the range of things you can find online to suit your needs and wants. I love a slogan top or jumper. I will happily wear a film or TV blazed t-shirt with pride in the hopes of not only making my day with it but someone else’s. Over the years, this has led me to finding some of the best places to get Disney, Marvel and more at the click of a button, which I wanted to share with you.
Here are my top five places online where I can let my slogan loving out their fashion and homeware freak fly…
Truffle Shuffle: I stumbled upon this website years ago and haven’t looked back since. I think everyone in our family has had a piece from there now and I love it. From homeware to fashion, it has everything for the Disney, DC or even Kellogg’s fan!
H&M: 99% of my wardrobe is from H&M and that is not a lie. People will now tell me where my clothes are from before they even ask. With ranges including Friends to Titanic t-shirts, they have endless collections coming out that are online and in store for every fashion lover. I currently have my eye on a NASA jacket. La La Land: I found out about this shop after seeing it featured in the Metro newspaper and often go exploring on it. Based in Scotland, the designs are out there but I love it for that reason. Never one to shy away from swearing or telling it how it is, the website is full of fabulous features including a Fleabag top I desperately need. ShopDisney: Every morning I check the new section of the website. Call me obsessed or weird, but Disney is my everything and I spent a long time not letting it be. Now I am all out for it and I am going to celebrate it in Disney Spirit Jersey’s and more.
Primark: Okay, so you can’t sadly buy online and I’m not its biggest fan for all clothing, but when Primark make a collection such as their Disney one, they win! I am a huge fan of their Friends range and have most of it in my room and I often splurge on their great selection of fun entertainment-based socks. Recent ones I have found included The Big Bang Theory and Toy Story 4.
This is only a selection lovely and I am sure many of you know even more great websites, so please do let me know in the comments below or on social where you go shopping!
If you saw my blog post the other day, then you will know that I am not the worlds biggest Line of Duty fan. It isn’t that I have anything against it. I follow it due to my family being obsessed with it and Gogglebox’s reactions. It is just not something I get gripped in.
So, this review of series five, which is out today on DVD and digitally, is coming to you in a very different way. With more knowledge about the show, what has happened and how the finale played out (I have watched all of this by the way), I got my mum who is a huge fan to point out her best, worst and hopes about the most recent series.
First, though, let me tell you what it is all about in case you haven’t seen it before. Line of Duty series 5 sees the return of AC-12, a team of investigators led by Superintendent Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar). After handing them another major case, Hastings finds himself fighting for justice when even his own team including Detective Inspector Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure) and Detective Sergeant Steve Arnott (Martin Compston), after a hijacking including several of their own goes wrong. All leading to them looking to find out who the mysterious H is.
Now let me hand you over to my mum’s reactions on the show:
What was it about this series that made it so good?
The whole scenario with finding out who H was and the way in which the police officers played a part in the case. All the sets up and finding out how they were getting them by the police. The continuous not knowing and the way it grips you in on who is doing it. The best bit is that it keeps you so well gripped right up until the end when H is revealed.
Was there anything in the show that let it down?
Watching some of the gruesome moments, however, I don’t think any of it was bad, because it kept you so well gripped. The cast was brilliant because they kept you watching. They made you want to know why they were doing this or why were they doing that. Nothing was bad about this series and even if you don’t get gripped you will find something to enjoy about it.
Would you tell people to watch this series?
Yes, because if you are someone who enjoys cop dramas or you like something that can grip you in then this is the one for you. It has a story that keeps you wanting to watch it. If you can’t stand waiting for the next episode then it may not be the one for you, but if you can then do. I don’t think you would have had to have seen any of the other series to watch it, because each series has a different story, which all comes down to the police officers in that series. Every story and every character, new or old, all fit in well and you will find enjoyment in it.
How would you like the show to go forward now a sixth series has been announced?
They must keep the stories just as good. They need to keep us interested and the characters all need to remain the same. I mean obviously, the ones who haven’t been killed. Six episodes each series is enough, and the hour slot is perfect viewing length. I didn’t notice that the finale was an hour and a half in length compared, as I was so enrapt in it, but I do think it should stay at just an hour.
Overall what would you rate this season?
4 ½ Stars
Line of Duty series 5 is out today lovelies and I hope that you all liked this new review overlook. I am not sure I will do it again (my mum can be hard work at times aha!), but I did think it was fun to bring her in for it so we will have to see!
Anna Paquin is no longer Sookie Stackhouse. Gone are the
days of True Blood, for now she is a PR with a lot of customer problems. New to
the W Channel, Flack introduces us to a world of figures. Some likeable, some
not so much. But all who provide interesting episodes at every turn.
Paquin plays Robyn, a publicist who has to help prevent her
clients from having the careers ruined by their antics. Deaths, sex, drugs, you
name it they are all involved in some way. And Robyn gets a lot of flack from
it.
Some may find the show ridiculous; others will love it from
the start. It is a mixture of both madness and pain to view, but ultimate it
becomes a joy after the first episode. The opening sequence featuring a
potential character death draws you in and once you’re in, you’re in.
Not much about the story or the plot is new and much of it
has been seen before. Yet sometimes this is what makes a show work. The female
powerhouses bring the house down and give a fresh look to some of the
storylines. They show that while we may have seen it all before, we still love
the stories and I guarantee you that you will not be able to stop watching.
Easily bingeable, the show is one to watch on a lazy Sunday
afternoon. Paquin is at her best again and giving audiences a whole new look to
what we know and love her for. All of which make it a perfect recipe for this…
Can you believe that we are in the month of May? Before we know it, Christmas will be here again! Something I will admit and know it is bad to that I am a little excited about! Yet, we are here to talk about the month of April.
With it coming and going in a blink of an eye, the month saw Easter feasts, treats and Avengers galore. Just a few of the things that made up my April monthly favourites:
Film: Avengers: Endgame – There was never going to be any competition when it came to the film that I enjoyed the most in April. I took myself to the cinema in the middle of the afternoon and sat for three hours fully immersed in what has to be one of, if not the, best superhero films of all time. I am not going to say much on it, as I don’t want to spoil anything, but you have to watch it lovelies! You have to!
TV Show: Jersey Shore: Family Reunion – Recently I have been binging on reality TV shows and Jersey Shore has been my choice. After watching all six of the classic seasons, I moved on to the Family Reunion ones and they are just as good. I am definitely a meatball aha!
Book: Sweet by Goh Helen and Yotam Ottolenghi – Even though I struggled with my condition, I do still love to bake for friends and family. Pop over to my Instagram and you will see a whole host of different bakes and cakes I have been experimenting with recently. For me, I think it is the science behind making the food and the outcome of it that I enjoy. I found this book at a car boot sale, after wanting it for so long, and made the Anzac biscuits from it. My mum said they were incredible, and I have never been more flattered aha!
Easter Gift: Mary Poppins Returns – I’m not the biggest Easter egg lover lovelies, so each year my mum gets us a family film to enjoy instead. Snuggled up on Easter Sunday with this Disney treat was a true joy. If you haven’t seen it yet lovelies, you really must as Emily Blunt is brilliant!
Fashion and Beauty: The Big Bang Socks from Primark – When I go to my weekly eating disorder appointments, sometimes I have to get weighed and I hate it. I really don’t like scales or numbers and find it stressful. Yet, I know it must happen and why it must happen. Before my appointments, I like to go to Primark or other places with funky socks and find some fun ones to wear, which I can look at when I step on the machine. The little things make a big difference and these Big Bang Theory ones made my day when I found them.
Life Moment: New Job – At the end of March, I started a new job that I had waited a long time to start. However, due to my eating disorder and mental health, I ended up relapsing and I decided to leave the company under medical advice and personal guidance. Speaking with my doctor, we decided maybe I should work part-time and in with the space of a week, I found a new role, two days a week doing something I enjoy. It is nice to finally be able to work somewhere that understands what I am going through and accepts me for what is happening.
What were your favourite things about the month of April lovelies?
For a long time, I have always made sure to try and not upset people when it comes to not liking something. I like to just keep my mouth closed and just get on with things. Especially when it comes to films and TV shows that others adore, and I don’t. There is already so much hatred in the world that not liking a hit HBO series is a little thing that I can keep to myself.
However, recently with people admitting that Game of Thrones isn’t their thing and people reacting hugely to this news, I been having a little think. When did it become okay to fall out with someone because they didn’t binge or stay up all night delving into the world of a show or film that others loved? Shouldn’t we all just not really care?
I’ve always had a weird mix of what I like and don’t. Harry Potter, not my thing. Twilight, huge fan and follower. Line of Duty, you seem kind of great, but I just can’t get into you. The Fall, I will binge on you to the very end.
What I am trying to say is that it is okay to not like something just because everyone is talking about it. As a person who adores romantic comedies, drama, Disney and anything that pumps me up, my viewings are weird. Something I am sure many of you also experience too.
To show you just how okay it is to not like a certain film franchise or TV show, I have gathered a few of the ones that I just can’t get into:
Line of Duty: Sunday nights for me are not about this series, but Victoria. I completely appreciate those that love it and I have been watching it (for review purposes), yet I’m just not hooked on it.
Game of Thrones: I’ve tried three times with this show and I just can’t get into it. I’ve accepted my fate as someone who knows nothing like Jon Snow.
The Harry Potter Franchise: I hate, and I mean HATE this series. I’ve seen them all. They are always on the TV and I just can’t deal with Harry and his friend's world. I’m sorry lovelies, but this is just not my cup of tea.
The Lord of The Rings/Hobbit: I fell asleep watching these films. They are long, I have no clue really what is happening, and I just can’t get myself to fall in love with them. Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate the beauty of the films, but it just isn’t for me.
Killing Eve: I’ve tried twice with this show and whilst I don’t dislike it, I just can’t find myself really falling for it. I adore Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer and appreciate Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s incredible talent, however, I am just not down with Eve.
What shows or films do you dislike or find that you can’t get into lovelies? Let’s celebrate being different!
