With the spooky season, nearly upon us and the return of American Horror Story season 8 about to launch, it is time to get snuggled up at home with all your comforts and prepare for the ultimate binge-watching session.

New to the show, after trying a few years ago, AHS is a perfect mix of clever new TV and a mixture of classic horror stories that will have you shouting their praises for being featured in such clever ways. All of which giving us the perfect excuse to look back at six of the best scenes of all time from the show so far…

The Opening Scene of The Pilot: If you haven’t seen the show before, then the first scene will drag you in until you have binge-watched the lot lovelies. The murder of two young boys and the introduction of the spooky home will have you grabbing for the nearest pillow to hide under in no time.


Piggy Piggy: The show was at its best in the first few seasons and this episode spooked everyone with the way in which the bathroom became a terror zone. No one say Piggy Piggy in the mirror ever!


The Murder Dinner Party: Not one to shy away from mentioning or discussing real-life killers or horror figures, the dinner party scene saw the cast bring real killers to the small screen in a very uncomfortable manner. But one we couldn’t help but watch.


Monster Bed: Once a place that we would run to and hide under the covers to stop anything scary from reaching us, AHS changed this and made the bed a place of pure terror. Sleep on top of your duvets from now on.


Lady Gaga’s First Scene: One of the reigning queens of pop, Lady Gaga was always going to make an epic entrance and she did just that alongside Matt Bomer! The Golden Globe was well-deserved lovelies.


Election Night: American Horror Story: Cult brought reality to the show with the reflection of the two voters after the 2016 election results. The scary element? How real some of the emotions are towards it.


With great moments like this, the eighth season, American Horror Story: Apocalypse, is going to be even more horrific, bringing true terror to all. With the anti-Christ said to be featured and the terrifying first poster highlighting the devil's return, the characters seem to be about to reach their end. For me, I hope to see how the writers tackle the future and how the impact that we are making on the planet now is going to affect us. It is going to be one scary affair.

And that is why I always prepare for the show! For me, there is nothing better than snuggling up on the sofa, with a comfy blanket and pillows. I then turn off the lights and get stuck in. However, the show is also perfect viewing for a film night in, when you and your friends are looking for something to watch but not a horror feature. It is shocking but thrilling stuff and that is why it is not to be missed.
