This morning, the 62nd BFI London Film Festival announced that this year’s American Express Gala feature will be The Favourite! And I am officially pumped for it!

Starring Olivia Colman, Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz, the film captures the world of 18th Century England and the women ruling the throne and land. A subject that will definitely be creating an exciting buzz when it is shown at the event lovelies on the 18th October at Cineworld, Leicester Square.

Speaking about the news, Tricia Tuttle, BFI London Film Festival Artistic Director said, “This is wickedly funny filmmaking from Yorgos Lanthimos who is operating at virtuoso frequency. The Favourite is a delight from start to finish, powered by a trio of riotous performances from Olivia Colman, Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz who are all clearly revelling in the wit and rhythm of the script. The perfect Gala for our principal partner American Express.” 

Don’t worry though lovelies if you can’t make the event, because the film will be out on the 1st January around the UK and Ireland, as well as across the globe. However, if you can make it, look out for the big event on the 18th October in Leicester Square.
