I want to start this post by saying that I LOVE rugby! I don’t watch every match or know lots of players names, but I adore the sport and find myself getting so into it when I watch it. Especially when I get to see teams showing their countries traditions. Something else I love about it is that it seems like a very sport focused event.

Don’t get me wrong I think that most sports are like this, but with rugby, you never really hear about the players when they are in training or off the pitch. They are people who seem to take their home life very serious. So, to get an inside look at one of the biggest teams in the world thanks to Amazon Prime Video, it feels secretly scandalous.

As the series begins and the music starts, our first glimpse of the world-famous New Zealand All Blacks is of their kit. From there we literally see how the stitches are put into the kit, by delving into the worlds of the players and the 2017 All Blacks Squad Naming ceremony. A time when emotions are so intense that you know you are going to be watching something special.

From their infamous haka to meals with their family members, you get to see the way that the team builds itself. How they go from home to pitch and how these moments make them the players that they are. Something that if you are a fan of rugby or not, you will find incredibly interesting.

Amazon has been even more clever by adding in the voiceover of Taika Waititi, the man behind Thor: Ragnarok and What We Do In The Shadows to bring a friendly voice to the teams journey. He is very serious, but he also knows how to break every moment down for the audience to understand it. A key moment is the first meeting between The Lions and All Blacks in a powerful game.

With only six episodes to watch, they range from 39 to 45 minutes long, making this one of the easiest of the All or Nothing series to binge watch. Unlike when you watch the football-focused ones, this one is more eye capturing due to the nature of the men in the series and their home and playing lives.

No longer are we left in the dark, this show makes everything about the game even more heightened. Case in point being the concussion Ben Smith suffers from on screen. A moment you will be telling everyone about.

If you are looking for a new sports-focused show, a huge All Blacks fan or just wanting to explore new TV options, then this is the series to watch. Gripping, full of sporting greats and heart racing moments, it has earned itself a place as one of the best Amazon originals.
