The LEGO Ninjago Movie DVD Review

Good Morning Lovelies,

The world of LEGO is forever evolving, as new worlds and characters come to life. Many of which that started in The LEGO Movie. Since then and a kind of sequel with The LEGO Batman, the films have been following suit, with the latest feature being The LEGO Ninjago Movie.

Based on the best-selling toys and stemming off the back of a hugely successful TV show, the film features the voices of Dave Franco, Justin Theroux and Jackie Chan, to present a mix of live action and LEGO animation.

Chan starts the film as a storyteller, before leading the audience into a LEGO recreation of it. Within his tale, we meet Franco’s character Lloyd, who is leading the way with a secret force to stop his evil father Lord Garmadon from attack the world of Ninjago. However, when he releases the Ultimate Weapon on the town, it may not be as easy as they think to stop him.

Taking characters into the LEGO film world who weren’t shown in the previous two features makes for a freaking look. However, the story doesn’t provide something that is ultimately new for young audiences.

Beside the live-action accounts, the tales told in the big screen version are similar a lot of the time to what has been explored on the small screen. It doesn’t connect as well as the previous films have done with an older audience and younger audiences may find themselves getting bored of the Power Ranger style antics if they have seen the show before.

There are plenty of funny moments that will entertain them, but nothing compared to what they have seen before. There is a strong element of loss in this one that it just can’t jump over.

Overall The LEGO Ninjago Movie will keep audiences happy until the next LEGO film but ultimately it doesn’t connect the same way previous features have.

There so I am giving it...
