Viva L'Italia DVD Review

Good Morning Lovelies,

Being half Italian, I have grown up with lots of Italian films and features. My dad is always making sure that we know about the history of his country and I am proud to learn more and more about it. However, a few weeks ago it was my turn to give him a film to enjoy all about his homeland.

Released by Arrow Films, Viva L’Italia tells the classic story of the Italian government’s and Roberto Rossellini’s biopic on Giuseppe Garibaldi. The man behind ‘the thousand’ and the country’s unification. Whilst played by an actor, Rossellini made sure that everything on screen was true to real life and kept it all in the style of a documentary.

Something that makes the film stand out. Whilst many will know the films creator, not everyone will know the man he is speaking about. Keeping it as real as possible gives them not only a form of entertainment but also an interesting history lesson behind the country.

It is an important film and one that will go on and stand the test of time in not only Italian cinema but around the world. There so, I am giving it…
