The Windsors Series One, Two and The Christmas Special DVD Review

Good Morning Lovelies,

Channel 4 have been sharing a wide and very controversial mix of entertainment and factual features surrounding the royal family recently. However, there was one comedy show that came before all of them. The Windsors!

With all of the shows recent series out on DVD, Blu-ray and digitally from today, it is the perfect time to fall into this mad version of everyday royal life. With Harry Enfield playing a dopey Prince Charles and a whole host of comedians joining him, the show is full of powerful funny people.

And with shocking scenes, which see Camilla try to rid the family of Kate Middleton, to the relationship between Pippa and Harry, the show definitely needs them. Keeping with a real time theme, the stars capture everything the Royals are caught up in, including the introduction of Megan Markle in the most recent series. By doing this it actually makes it quite hard to take the actual royal family series.

There are some downsides to the show, however, at times, it can all feel a little bit too predictable. People have been making the snide comments or key ideas, such as Camilla's desire to be queen for a long time. By taking these themes nothing builds from them that is new. It would have been better if they took some of the things that have shared with us over the years and put it in the show. The royal symbol on everyday items would have been a good one!

The show can also fall into the category of being too silly. When it comes to British humour, we are more of the Peep Show/Gavin and Stacey bunch. We look for real madness and lots of sarcasm. This show doesn't do that often, letting its British comedy roots down.

I will say though that it does fall under the easy binge watch section on a Sunday afternoon. After only one episode, you can weirdly get trapped in its mad spell. A spell that ends up last two series and more long!

There so, this royal feast is getting itself a sovereign of a review with these...
