The Tree Of Wooden Clogs DVD Review

Good Morning Lovelies,

Arrow Video has done it again lovelies and released another classic on DVD and Blu-Ray! This week, The Tree of Wooden Clogs has made its way into the collection!

Awarded the Palme d’Or at the 1978 Cannes Film Festival, the film is an in-depth look at peasant life in the nineteenth century. Focusing on the life of one young woman and four other farming families, the film takes audience members on a journey back in time to Italy during a tough era.

As soon as you begin to watch the film it is easy to see why this film was such a hit at Cannes. It is a complex story that brings to life the real struggles of humanity and the way in which people deal with them every day. No one character is the same and this makes for an appealing viewing.

Created with obvious heart, every mini detail has been thought about to reflect something. From the shots on the farm, highlighting the working conditions of those in the film to the hard conversations the characters face, this film makes you forget about its title, which is a little strange to bring many more creative thoughts to mind.

There so I am giving it...

5 Stars
