Doberman Cop DVD Review
07:00:00
Good Morning Lovelies,
Arrow Videos/Films are bringing back another major classic
to add to its collection today lovelies, as Doberman Cop makes its way on to
Blu-ray for the first time ever! Directed by Kinji Fukasaku, the film helped
the Japanese film industry when it was going through some hard times to come
out on top again.
Based on the Manga series, the film tells the story of tough
police officer Joji Kano, as he investigates the murder of a young woman, who
had been working as a prostitute. As the events begin to unravel, Kano finds
himself proving to those around him that he is not one to be messed with.
The film is an intriguing take on the cop genre, since its
added mixture of music and gang culture, bring to life something that still
makes it feel fresh even today. The characters have back stories that allow you
to see them develop over the course of the film into more interesting and
gripping roles.
Fukasaku knows how to make a cop film and it is easy to see
with the Doberman Cop how he saved the Japanese film industry so well, as he
gave them something fresh. Something exciting and something that they could use
to be inspired to make other films.
There so I am giving it…
4 Stars
