BrOTHERHOOD DVD Review
08:00:00
Good Morning Lovelies,
Growing up I watched the Kidulthood and Adulthood films and
instantly saw a different world of cinema. The films were what I feel the
return of some of the grittiest British films we have had in a long time and
now the third and final film in the series was released.
Created and starring Noel Clarke, in the lead role, the film
follows on from the previous films highlighting Noel’s character Sam trying to
survive in the gritty world that he is forced into.
With gangs and hard hitting moments, Sam must protect his
family from being taunted and harmed by those from his past.
With many familiar faces taking to the big screen to display
the final film, there is a sense that the voice Noel Clarke is presenting is the
most relevant and important messages that come out for young people nowadays. I
am not saying we all face the same things, but young people are looking to see
a film that was once so relevant continue to be so.
Someone like Clarke has a way of constructing a film to make
it show how vital certain issues really are. However, there are a number of
issues with the film.
Well not really issues but uncomfortable viewing moments.
The representation of violence and women in the film are both let the seat eat
you up viewing and you would hope that this would have changed.
Yet, knowing how the characters and their stories have
viewed these topics before there is no shock really that Clarke has continued
on with making the story represent them this way.
Ultimately the film is a gripping look at how the film
industry can still carry on trilogies and make them a lot stronger than before.
Which is why I am giving it...

I've watched Kidulthood and wondered if the following installments were stand-alone films or related to the initial story. Thanks for sharing your review and Merry Christmas
