THE TAKE DVD REVIEW

Good Morning Lovelies,

I don’t know about you lovelies but when I was told a film was coming out starring Mr Luther himself Idris Elba and Richard Madden, I got excited. Both of those actors make for great viewing (I have been in a room with Madden while he has acted) and both have talents that should be seen a lot more highly off.

In their latest film, The Take (formerly known as Bastille Day), Madden and Elba play cat and mouse with each other as Madden’s character finds himself being chased by Elba’s detective. The two are however pushed together and must work to solve the problems Madden’s character has placed himself in.

Elba is on top form again as a detective in this film. A role that is perfect for him. However it isn’t as good as him normal detective form. The film makes him appear a little bit too over the top and it is trying hard to put him in the same form as Luther but with a different circumstance it doesn’t work.

However don’t let it put you off because Elba does rein it in in his own manner and style that only he can do. And Madden plays a very good sidekick to his detective. The film is also great at showing the city in a light that mirrors Bond’s look at the way in which a scene can make a film.

It is sad that a film like this matches many things that have happened recently. It is a sadness that makes it hard to watch in fact and if you are not ready then please don’t view this. While Elba and Madden are a great team there is still a story to this.

Overall however I am giving the film…
