STONEWALL DVD REVIEW...

20:07:00

Good Morning Lovelies,

A few years ago I did work experience and during my time at the company I was asked to do some key research into the events of Stonewall to prepare for the upcoming film. I spent hours and hours looking up the events and the people involved and I was so inspired by the people who took to the streets to share that love is love.

However the film I did all the research for didn't show this idea of love well. Or the people that campaigned for change. Directed by Roland Emmerich, the film follows one young man as he moves to the big city and meets the people who run the famous establishment and change his life.

The story is an independent person’s story but it should have been made wider. You want to know more about the faces surrounding him and in all honest if they had done this then it would have made the film more concise. There are a lot of moments that drag or have a feeling about them that makes them seem as though they could have just been cut out.

In a time in which a story like this is key to explain and show the history of the LGBT community there should be a strong script and story throughout. However there isn't and it makes you want to find something else to watch at times, which is unfortunate.

There so I am giving the film...
