THE SURVIVALIST DVD REVIEW...

14:50:00

Good Morning Lovelies,

Over the past few weeks I have been a bit of an idiot and forgotten to review this film until now lovelies. With university and personal problems affecting me, I finally stopped and rested to watch this film at last and I am so glad I did.

Set in a post-apocalypse world, ‘The Survivalist’ shows the life of one survivor as he tries to take on what is left of the world on his own and the people he meets along the way, including a mother and daughter team.

The films script provides very little to the beauty of it and the whole outlook of the tone and feel of the piece as an overall structure. There is an elegance to the voiceless characters at times, even though they are faced with the problems and wars in which they are.

As a film the whole idea of it is to survive a world of kill or be killed. It is a world that those who are faced with the troubles that they are can make it out alive and the ways in which they are tested in the film reflect some of the problems that those in this world are to.

There are a few problems with the film though. It does become a bit too much in places and not because it is hard to watch, but because the storyline starts to do something that it doesn’t need to do and go off and try to become a bigger or more blockbuster epic then it needs to be. It doesn’t need to do this because it is already such a classic film in its own way.

This is why I am giving it...
