Showcasing over 308 events and 174 films, the festival will also welcome films such as ‘Time Out Of Mind’, ‘The Forest’, ‘High –Rise’, ‘Demolition’, ‘Louder Than Bombs’, ‘Sing Street’, ‘Miles Ahead’, ‘Zootropolis’, ‘Dheepan’, ‘The Wave’, ‘Arabian Nights’, ‘Truth’, ‘Green Room’ and ‘Hamish’.

All these amazing films will be bringing a huge wave of talent to the festival as the stars will be arriving to present their new films including,  Richard Gere, Natalie Dormer, Ben Wheatley, Peter Greenaway, Vic Armstrong, Hannah Murray, Danny Fields, Michael Caton-Jones, Letitia Wright, Joachim Trier, Lucile Hadžihalilović, Ruth Platt and Miranda Pennell.

As well as these amazing films and talent meetings, the festival will also be welcoming special events to their festival, as they host a number of pop up cinemas in Kelvingrove Museum, as well as live talks and music events, to make up the fun and entertaining programme.

Speaking about the event, Allan Hunter, Glasgow Film Festival Co-Director, said: “The 2016 Glasgow Film Festival programme is bursting with must-see movies and events. I’m excited to introduce audiences to real gems like Pablo Trapero’s gripping crime drama The Clan in our Argentine focus, Zhang Yang’s breath-taking Tibetan film Paths of the Soul, and a cracking line-up of Audience Award contenders including the unforgettable, Oscar-nominated Mustang. Where else would you want to be in February?”

While Allison Gardner, Glasgow Film Festival Co-Director, said: “I’m really delighted with this year’s programme. We’ve got some exceptional premieres in our Gala strand, a great and thoroughly original line up of documentaries in Stranger than Fiction, and a really charming, child-friendly Modern Families programme headlined by the UK premiere of Disney’s Zootropolis. The festival keeps moving forward, with new developments like our Industry Focus conference, whilst also maintaining our roots as an audience-focused festival where everyone can come together to share a love of cinema. And we’ve been around for a few years now, so look out for some extra-special movie anniversaries in the programme.”

These films will be used to judge the Audience Award at the 2016 event lovelies, as the programming team have selected great films for great fans to vote on lovelies, as they explore all sides of the industry with their audience-focused festival.
