The Avengers Review

00:06:00

Hello My Lovely's,
So as part of this week’s theme I am going to review the superhero legendary film 'The Avengers'. Directed by Joss Whedon, the film was a first in putting together the superhero classic characters, Thor, Black Widow, the Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America and Hawkeye against Tom Hiddleston's award winning villain Loki.

'The Avengers' was able to produce a top speed superhero film through the dynamic on screen relationships between each character. From comical moments between frenemies Hulk played by Mark Ruffalo compared to the Edward Norton based character, the films were based around and Thor played by the amazing Chris Hemsworth. To the relationship between Iron Man, of course famous by Robert Downey Jr and Captain America portrayed by Chris Evans, which took on a much more masculine, challenged pairing.

Whedon has created a world in which while the male dominating figures may seem to hold all the power it is in fact Scarlet Johansson's black widow that answers a lot of clues. She is able to unfold why Hawkeye is the way he is, as well as fighting of the Hulk when he is 'Angry' which as many people can figure would be an impossible challenge and she makes the men answer to her instead of bowing down to their superior.

Villains are always the best characters and I loved the fact that the film was focused on the evil Loki. Loki is one of those characters that many people hate to love due to his amazing but malicious ways. He is able to manipulate the audience into to loving him much like he does to many of the characters within the film! He makes everyone’s characters evolve more and have a lot more depth to them which cause them to want to be something stronger than what they would be. He is also amazing because fictionally he is related/ adopted into having Thor as a brother who is my favourite Avenger by far!!!
All of the film is really just a masculinity faceoff which makes the men seem like the hero's yet I feel that maybe the villain is always the hero as they create them! They make them what they are in the public eye and they make the audience love them but never do they get what the hero has which is the girl or boy, the attention and overall power of the film!

Overall 'The Avengers' is one of the most iconic films in the modern day history making. It makes the batman trilogy appear weak in the eyes of the amount of action in which the different characters in force into this film. Each is dynamic in their own way and each makes their voice be heard, however in my eyes I only really want to focus on Thor or Loki (aha). So bring on the next one and the sequels to the other hero's film and let’s see what they are going to do next!
I am giving 'The Avengers' ....

5 Stars

Until Next Time...
