It’s new film time on the blog lovelies and this one comes from one of my favourites…DISNEY! Based on the best-selling books by Eoin Colfer, Artemis Fowl, directed by Kenneth Branagh has begun shooting and already we have been provided with a sneaky look.
Adapted for the big screen by award-winning playwright Conor McPherson, the film follows 12-year-old Artemis Fowl, a young genius descended from a long line of criminals, who finds himself in a battle against a powerful race of fairies who may be behind his father’s disappearance. With newcomer Ferdia Shaw playing the title character, he is joined by Lara McDonnell, Dame Judi Dench and Josh Gad (who play figures who are either hunting or helping him along the way.
Due to be released in August next year, we have a while to wait, which means we can watch this new teaser again and again…
How is it only Tuesday lovelies? I swear this week is really dragging aha! Hopefully, these new teasers can help us all get through this cold day (have you been outside yet? It is freezing in London), by bringing in some much-needed brightness.
And how are we all on this chilly Monday? I am feeling super Christmas vibes today and I honestly can’t wait to get this week over with. In just seven days, I will be with Mickey and Minnie in the most magical place on earth!
To help pass the time until then though lovelies, I have some exciting new clips and teasers from the world of TV and film to share with you all. Starting with this Festival of Fun from Peppa Pig…
Before there was Downton Abbey, there was Gosford Park! Julian Fellowes’ 2002 hit British film with an all-star cast, who know how to take a period drama to new heights.
When a weekend in the countryside leads to a murder, a host of aristocrats, celebrities and servants must work together in Cluedo fashion to find out what or who caused it.
Starring Charles Dance, Helen Mirren and Dame Maggie Smith and a whole host more, this drama, set in 1932, uses clever plot twists and a fantastic ensemble to give audiences more than they may be expecting.
Fellowes always knows how to bring the school factor and this feature includes just that. Lots in fact. With some of his finest script work on display, Gosford Park cements the talents Fellowes has at making a feature length film and provides comfort for those awaiting the Downton Abbey film.
For a piece made over 15 years ago, it still feels relevant. It is a piece that could be shown on TV today and people would still sit down and watch with joy. That is when you know a feature really can stand the test of time.

Good Morning Lovelies,
After the announcement that some of the biggest names in the film, TV and music industry were going to embark on an African adventure in The Lion King, we have been treated to the first teaser from the upcoming film.
With Donald Glover playing future king Simba, Beyonce starring as his love-interest Nala and James Earl Jones featuring as Mufasa, the film tells of Simba’s exile from his kingdom upon a tragedy within the pride. One we do not speak of! Along the way, he makes new friends, falls in love and rises above evil to earn his true title.
Due out next July lovelies, catch the first epic trailer below:
Growing up, we all knew the holidays were coming when my mum used to get her Farepak hampers. It would be a day of the year, where we would all spend it together helping her unload them to see what she had got. Even though we weren’t allowed to eat them until the big event aha!
After the company went bust, however, she hasn’t ever really got back into getting them and it makes me a little sad that the tradition has stopped. I know that it would have carried on for my niece and nephews to have enjoyed if she had found another one to match it.
There so, when Prestige Hampers offered me the chance to try out their Christmas Chest hamper, I jumped at it. Keeping it a secret from my mum, the parcel arrived the day after the team mentioned it and it is safe to say when she felt the weight and saw the labelling on the box it came in, she got very excited!
The Christmas Chest is currently £74.99 on their website and comes with a whole host of goodies in a real wooden box. Full up with chocolates, wines, teas, biscuits and cake, plus more, there is something for everyone to enjoy within it.
Upon opening the chest, you are greeted with four sneak peeks of some of what the hamper has to offer. The first being the Tomato, Basil and Mozzarella Yorkshire Crisps that come in a fancy tub. I haven’t ever seen this flavour before and I truly think it would go down well with all the festive cheeses I know my mum will be buying.
Also, at the top of the box was a hint of the Walkers Milk, Dark and White Chocolates that have a bunch of classic flavours and cremes that the family can dive into. Great to eat with the dramatic soaps on Christmas Day or even to keep for New Year’s Eve if you are having a party!
Keeping with traditions, the box also had a box of good old-fashioned English tea and some delicious looking red velvet biscuits that have chunky white chocolate chips within them. It’s safe to say that my mum, the biscuit lover, has already claimed these.
After removing the wormy paper placed after these to reveal the bottom layer, there was also a whole host more for the family to enjoy. If the box of chocolates wasn’t enough for the dark chocolate lover in your house, there was also a separate bar by Beech’s. To me, this would be perfect to grate over those cosy hot chocolates the winter brings. There was also the statement Christmas cake in the form of a slab, which would be great with a cup of tea from the box in the hamper.
If biscuits are more your thing with a cuppa, the chest includes Walker’s festive shaped shortbread biscuits that are big enough for little hands too. And some oat cakes if you have a taste for more savoury items instead. However, you could also make them sweet with the Christmas marmalade and preserve that come with it.
The final trio of festive delights were two bottles of wine and a Christmas pudding for one. A classic Shiraz and a bottle of Chardonnay will mean that both your Christmas Eve and Christmas Day dinners will have the perfect tipple of choice.
Or if you prefer, you could keep them for New Year’s Eve and enjoy them with guests, loved ones or even gift them to them if they are hosting. As for the pudding, this is one for the cook to enjoy, because after putting in all the hard work in the kitchen, they should definitely rest when it comes to dessert!
When I first got this chest lovelies, I wasn’t sure if it was worth the £74.99, to be honest. However, I completely changed my mind after seeing how much great quality items you get. And the box itself, which could be used for other items when the hamper is empty or recycled next year with a homemade hamper.
I loved the look, the products and the quick timing that this one arrived in and I will definitely be buying more this year and next. For more information on them lovelies, head to the Prestige Hampers website.
Who do you use to get your festive hampers from lovelies?
Cadbury’s Christmas treats may have been mentioned before on the blog, but now it is time to see what the shops have to offer. Tree decorations, gift boxes and advent calendars are about to be enjoyed and I can tell you all that they will be worth every penny.
After looking at what Cadbury Gifts Direct have created, Cadbury has also got stuck into stocking up our supermarket shelves with chocolate goodness and kindly they sent me some to try.
Stocking fillers are the big thing this year it seems, as the company has brought back the biggest hit in my family, Snow Bites. The chocolate shell coated balls with a powdery layer on top have been one of the biggest sellers throughout the years and from the way my mum adores them I can see why. Much like a winter version of mini eggs, they are easy to place into stockings and to hand around the office during the chilly months as an instant pick me up.
However, that isn’t all the team have brought back this winter. Allowing us all to go back to when we were little, they have also created tubes of Freddy Faces that instantly remind me of when I use to go to our local corner shop to get a 10p Freddo bar after school. Now these tubes mean that the whole family can be reminded of this and the little ones that have now joined us can fall in love with them like we did.
Cadbury have made this year all about football. The biggest difference to anything we have seen to previous years and it works. With Boxing Day being the start of the football season in the UK, the chocolate has been lifted out in different colours to reflect the ultimate match day experience.
In a new selection box, much like their retro box which I have shown before and was kindly gifted again, this great Premier League box features the newest flavours to the group. Daim, Oreo, Oreo Mint and the classic Dairy Milk have made the cut to give us all a match made in heavy when we pair them with the best of Christmas TV or even with a Boxing Day match!
Cadbury has also made sure to bring back the brilliant festive Christmas decorations and advent calendars that can be enjoyed each day in the lead-up. I don’t know how, but amazingly the decorations always last till after Christmas in our house and my family finds them perfect to eat when taking the tree down. I think it helps to soothe that fact that the festivities are over aha!
Film nights in need Cadbury’s! Christmas’ need Cadbury’s! And now you can enjoy both during the festive season. Whether it be one of the gift selections or one of these classic staples, it is very much a tradition we must keep going lovelies.
What Cadbury chocolate treat will you be enjoying this year lovelies?
Does winter even exist if you don’t have delicious smelling candles burning in your home whilst you snuggle up on the sofa with a good box set or film? To me, there is nothing better than lighting a beautiful scented piece and having people come into my home and enjoying it too.
For years now, we have been a Yankee Candle family. I’m not sure when I fell in love with them or how, but now they are in every room. We even have different ones for different seasons and I make sure to stock up on Christmas Memories as it is my festive favourite.
This year, the team have made it easier for us to embrace the beauty of a film night in with a delicious smell with their new and even bigger candles. Known as the Elevation Collection, these square-shaped come with a new platform lid that allows the candle to sit within it whilst burning and then be placed back on the top of it when you are not using it anymore. No longer will we have to run around looking for a plate or coaster lovelies!
Speaking with the team earlier in the week, I was kindly given an Exotic Bergamot scent to try and it is so dreamy lovelies. Giving a clean, clear mix of bergamot and gentle blossoms, the candle smells of lavender, jasmine and African orange. Or to me a bit like the perfect Earl Grey tea.
Lighting it before I sat down to enjoy some good old-fashioned TV on Saturday night, I walked back into the room to discover that the scent was really strong but in a good way. I’m not sure if this is true, but to me, having the square shape made it seem like the smells had more room to escape into the air and fill the room.
I kept it burning for around an hour before I blew it out and headed up to bed, where I found I could still smell it. The next day I discovered the same, highlighting to me that the product was really well crafted and thought of. The whole candle, in fact, is so well crafted.
The lid fits perfect both ways and there is no messing or fiddling around with it. The glass is super strong and whilst it does make the candle a little heavy, it also makes the whole piece look lovely on a mantel or window ledge.
I’m so impressed with everything these candles feature and I can’t wait to smell more this Christmas. Amaretto Apple is the one I’ve really got my eye on and if I spot it when I’m out it is going to have to come home with me lovelies.
To make your next film night in even more special, head to the Yankee Candle website to discover these cosy treats.
With just over a week to go until Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck It Ralph 2 hits cinemas, a new princess filled teaser has been released. Every star from our favourite princess stories is back and better than ever.
The LEGO Movie was one of my favourite films the year it came out and with a sequel due out in 2019, I honestly cannot wait to embrace the figures and their brick world again. Especially when it looks AMAZING in this second trailer.
Yesterday I spent a lot of time preparing for the big launch of the blog’s Christmas gift guide 2018! All of which leading to a bit of a delay in getting these treats out to you on time. However, I am here now with all the latest clips and teasers for the world of TV and film from the past few days for you to enjoy.
Monday’s may seem like the devil’s day but have no fear because I have a bunch of heroes ready to save the day. With the new Robin Hood out this week, there is no better time to celebrate these vigilantes at their best!
Fighting crime and taking the law into their own hands, vigilantes are some of the most kick-ass characters in film. To celebrate the release of action-packed Robin Hood, arriving in cinemas November 21, we’re looking at some of the best vigilante films, from John Wick to The Equaliser… John Wick (2014): John Wick takes the law into his own hands, but for more personal reasons than others. When legendary assassin John Wick (Keanu Reeves) retires after marrying the love of his life, her sudden death leaves him in mourning. This is spirals out of control when a thug steals his prized car and kills the puppy that was the last gift from his wife. His inner assassin is then unleashed as he seeks revenge for his late wife.
The Equaliser (2014): Robert McCall (Denzel Washington) is a retired Marine and Defence Intelligence Agency operative who after promising his recently deceased wife that he would leave his old ways behind now lives a quiet life. Unable to sleep, McCall spends some nights reading in a diner when he meets Teri (Chloë Grace Moretz), a teenager who has been manhandled by the Russian mafia and can’t help but come to her aid. The skills from his mysterious past soon become known, as McCall serves as an avenging machine, taking down anyone who threatens the helpless.
Law Abiding Citizen (2009): Starring Gerard Butler and Jamie Foxx, Law Abiding Citizen follows the story of Clyde Shelton (Gerard Butler) a family man, whose wife and daughter are brutally murdered in a home invasion. When prosecutor Nick Rice (Jamie Foxx) is unable to securely convict the family’s killers he has no choice but to cut a deal with one of them in exchange for their testimony. Years later, the killer is found dead, at the fault of Shelton who hands himself in. But his revenge for this obstruction of justice doesn’t end there…
V for Vendetta (2005): Based on the graphic novel by Alan Moore, V for Vendetta is set in 2020 London following a World War, the country is police state occupied by a fascist government. The only form of justice seems to be a masked vigilante known only as V (Hugo Weaving) who uses terrorist tactics to fight the oppressors of this bleak world. During a run-in with the police, V saves a young woman named Evey (Natalie Portman), who becomes his unlikely ally, as they continue the fight against their oppressors.
Kick-Ass (2010): Taking a more light-hearted approach at the vigilante genre, Kick-Ass is a new take on your average superhero movie. Teenager Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson) plans to become a real-life superhero, using his love for comics as inspiration. Dave makes a costume and names himself "Kick-Ass,", however on his first outing manages to get stabbed and then hit by a car. He then decides to join forces with the father/daughter vigilante team ‘Big Daddy and Hit Girl’ and another self-made hero called Red Mist to fight crime in the city together.
Robin Hood (2018): Taron Egerton stars as the most famous vigilante of them all, the fearless Robin of Loxley. Robin is a war-hardened Crusader who, along with commander (Jamie Foxx), mounts an action-packed revolt against the corrupt English monarchy.
Robin Hood is out in cinemas on the 21st November lovelies!
For several years now, The Rock has been the ultimate leading man when it comes to those big action films our cinema screens love. Yet, in his latest release Skyscraper, he fails to save the features day.
Playing former FBI agent Will Sawyer, the film follows him as he moves into a Hong Kong-based skyscraper known as The Pearl with his family. Brought in to protect it, Sawyer finds his worst fears coming true when he is faced with the building being placed under threat from terrorists, whilst his family is inside it.
Director Rawson Marshall Thurber is more well known for making films that add comedy and laughter to people’s lives. Yet, in this feature, he leaves audiences wondering how Dwayne Johnson can take on such a horrific incident by himself and save the day. All of which making people laugh but not in the same way or the right way in which he intends for it to be.
There is too much to the plot that makes you think that all hope needs to be lost unless Johnson saves it. Something that may have now been made or processed between the director and actor many times before.
Don’t get me wrong, Johnson can lead the way, but the story and screen action within Skyscraper isn’t the film to show this done well. In fact, it is the film that will make audiences question whether it is time that Thurber’s goes back to the comedy features people adore.
Sergio G. Sánchez has often been the man behind some of J.A. Bayona’s best films. However, whilst the director works on big-budget features, Sánchez has been staying true to his indie roots and making low budget features that pack a punch.
In The Secret of Marrowbone, he gives audiences the story of four siblings faced with the aftermath of their mother’s death. After promising that they will remain secret until the oldest sibling, Jack (George MacKay) turns 21, the family is faced with an earlier than planned issue from an evil force.
Starring MacKay, Charlie Heaton and Anna Taylor-Joy, the film takes the best upcoming British talent to present a story that will stick with you long after viewing. Like The Orphanage and in many ways Heaton’s Stranger Things, the family ties within the film will take you back and forth as Jack fights to keep them all together.
More of a thriller than a horror, the screenplay adds music to create suspense and MacKay is a compelling watch when it comes to breaking down how much of a threat their issues are causing. Yet, there is a few issues with the storyline.
Happy moments are too often to really create an everlasting thrill and the characters are sometimes too hard to connect with. The plot goes into many dimensions at times and not in a way that will thrill many. It causes confusion and it takes this impressive cast to really make sure that the film doesn’t go to wild. Without them, it may just become a feature done before and never in a good way.
However, that isn’t to say that the film doesn’t demand a watch. Classic horror or thriller fans will enjoy the familiarity of it and the way minor details play into the story. If you enjoyed The Haunting of Hill House than this is a film that you can enjoy soon after.
Growing up with four brothers meant that I was introduced to a whole collection of shows. From Sky One’s Dream Team to Only Fools and Horses. There was a real mixture being shown and one of the classics was Star Trek. However, sadly the show never stayed on my radar after I reached a certain age and I left the world of Captain Spock and Klingon behind.
Until 2017/2018, when Netflix announced that they would be bringing back the space age drama in a completely new format to all other versions (I am looking at you JJ Abrams) that would see one of the biggest budgets ever spent for the show. Taking audiences back to classic stories and the way that they were presented before, Netflix knew how to draw us all in. Yet, the story of the first season didn’t do so well in this case.
With shiny new outfits, ships and set pieces that look like real pieces of art on display, the characters are all fresh faces, who are taking each voyage as they go. Especially one young recruit, who must face the hardships of a life in space from the moment the show begins.
There is a dark depth to this series, which never lets up however and that can make it intimidating for those who may not have seen the show before. Nothing runs smoothly for the crews, made up of the likes of Rainn Wilson, Mary Wiseman and Sonequa Martin-Green, as they venture in to providing us with blockbuster worthy TV shows.
However, with the new additions and the ways in which they make their characters stand out, the show feels like it never left. It doesn’t feel like a new world has been made, just added to in a superb way, when it comes to the stars of the show. Each figure holds nothing back and you can see them forcing out their best to make sure audiences can enjoy the Starfleet once again.
It may not be what many remember it as, but viewers should remember that times have changed, and the new graphics and sounds will make for even better viewing. As well as the Klingon subtitles that have been added to the disc. If Sheldon Cooper was a real person, I imagine this is where he would get very excited.
Overall, the show brings back the old school charm it once had, but hooks in new audiences with new faces. Approachable, fun and a little dark too, all make this drama one thrilling ride. Earning it this…
For years, the Nativity has been told on the big screen. From an all singing school story to classic animations and live action retelling’s that would scare anyone, the holy tale is one viewed by many.
Yet, in a new version of the story, The Star, tells of it from the point of view of the animals there on the night. And I’m afraid there isn’t a lobster present in this feature (sorry Love Actually fans).
As animal features become ever popular with young cinema goers, The Star draws into their wants with the creators telling the story through the life of a young donkey called Bo. Looking for a new life beyond his little village, he escapes, only to become friends with Mary and Joseph, who show him the kindness he wants.
Upon entering his new life, he meets new friends including Ruth, a sheep and lots of other farmyard and exotic animals along the way. All of which who join to follow the star to the first ever Christmas.
Whilst older audiences will already know the story and not find much new here, younger viewers will delight in the fun nature that this story takes to tell the tale of how Christmas was said to begin. It is an original idea and one that will bring the nativity to life in any household.
It may not be perfect, but the sweet animals take on the birth of Jesus has a softer edge to it that will educate all, all over again.
Dumbo is one of the greatest Disney films of all time! There, I said it! And yes, I know it is sad, but it has a beautiful story to it when you really look at it. Plus, it is full of gorgeous elephants that we all adore.
After teasing us, Disney has finally released a full trailer for us to embrace and I will warn you that you may want to prepare for it. That is all I am saying…
It isn’t long until we delve into the world of How To Train Your Dragon again and to prepare us a recap video has been released. Go back to where it all began and embrace the beauty of these films lovelies.
Sorry for the lack of blog posts yesterday, the world just got a little manic and I couldn’t handle everything. All I wanted to do was curl up and go to bed after work, so I did just that aha!
I am feeling a lot better today though lovelies (maybe it’s because it is a Friday) and so I have lots to share with you all. Starting with these brand new teasers from Stan & Ollie, Everybody Knows and Fantastic Beasts, plus lots more. Enjoy…
When I was little, Hertford (where I live) used to have a Thorntons shop. If I had been good, for a little treat or if I had had an appointment (maybe the after-dentist treat wasn’t a great idea mum), I could go in there and get my favourites – white chocolate buttons or a festive chocolate lollipop!
Sadly, however, the shop closed and since then and with being on a health kick these past few years I haven’t been able to enjoy them as I once did. I haven’t ever found something to replace them, so when I got in touch with Thorntons to see if they had any festive film inspired pieces I could feature on the blog and they presented me with these goodies, I found myself getting very excited.
Christmas isn’t Christmas without the classic story of The Snowman and this year, Thornton’s chocolate angels have made it their mission to make sure that we can enjoy it both on and off screen. With big and little options to choose from, the magic of the chocolate Snowman can start on the 1st December, with their epic milk and white chocolate themed advent calendar.
Filled to the brim with pieces, all decorated with screen icons from the film, it is bigger than the average sized advent you find in most stores. This is due to the extra treat on Christmas day of the giant white chocolate Snowdog, the lead character of the recent sequel to the classic feature. I was really surprised by the addition and I think it makes the higher retail price so worth it. If the white chocolate is what it used to be like when I was little, then those who tuck in will be delighted. And what more could you really want on Christmas morning?
If the little or big person in your family, however, is a firm fan of The Snowman, then the team have prepared for when the Snowdog might not do it. Made of white chocolate and with the addition of the Snowdog in his arms, a stocking-sized treat has been created that is perfect for all to enjoy during a classic festive film on the big day or as a sweet dessert on Christmas Eve.
Speaking of which, if you are a fan of the film Elf and have a buddy in your home, like we do (mum I am looking at you again!), then the team have also added a cheeky elf chocolate, with a cute giggling face, made of milk chocolate to their festive team. I must admit that I haven’t opened this one to try yet, as I think the special woman mentioned twice before may get to enjoy it.
The final treat in our luxury white parcel was a very adult treat. Filled with chocolates inspired from places around the world, Thornton’s have made a Continental: Taste of a Journey advent calendar. Inspiring you with treats that you can enjoy on your next trip in 2019. The Sicilian Mousse is already causing fights in our house, as it is where my dad is from, but my family all wants it aha!
Thorntons have always made sure to think about taste when it comes to their treats and I am so sad that I have had to wait so long to have it back in my life. I know I could have gone and brought them from supermarkets, but it isn’t the same as going into that sweet shop when I was little and enjoying them. Yes, I know I am 23 and sounding old but it is true aha! Thankfully now I can share them with the little ones in our house, especially my nephew Leo, who will be here on Christmas morning to enjoy the Snowdog advent treat.
To find out more about what Thornton’s have to offer this Christmas, head to their website. Chocolate film nights will never be the same again this festive season lovelies!
And how are we all today? I am back with some new teasers for you, starting with the first look trailer for Netflix’s upcoming Dumplin’ starring Jennifer Aniston and Danielle Macdonald.
Yesterday brought back the beauty of Toy Story with the first teaser from the fourth film. Now the gang are back in another treat, with another new face for us to meet. Everyone get ready to meet Ducky and Bunny.
Both carnival prizes, who long to be won, the pair find their dreams changing, when they head off on an adventure with a group of toys, who have never experienced the prize wall.
Discover these cute new faces below lovelies:
Anyone else longing for this film to just come out now?
A very happy Tuesday to you all! It may be super late in the day for me to be blogging, but I am here and I have a whole host of new trailers to share with you all. Starting with these new features from Roma and Pokemon.
Do you ever plan things way in advance? That is what I am doing right now, as I already know what I am going to be doing on my mum’s birthday next year! Delving into the lovable world of Toy Story all over again.
Our favourite characters are back in Toy Story 4, as Woody, the greatest Sheriff around prides himself on protecting the children he is owned by, whether that be Andy or Bonnie, is introduced to a new toy known as Forky, a spork turned into a craft project, who is afraid of what the outside world holds for him. All of which leading Woody to experience how big the world can be for a toy, as his new and old friends head out on a road trip adventure.
Directed by Josh Cooley and produced by Jonas Rivera and Mark Nielsen, the team behind my favourite Inside Out, the film ventures to UK cinemas on the 21st June 2019, with all the well-known team including Tom Hanks, Tim Allen and Joan Cusack back to give us the latest instalment.
Check out the first teaser for the film below lovelies…
Last week, a new film was presented to me and I had to take a few days lovelies to get over the cuteness of it. Honestly, I already feel an attachment forming with this character and that can only mean one thing. I am going to become obsessed with it.
Starring Hugh Jackman, Zoe Saldana, Emma Thompson, Stephen Fry, David Walliams and Zach Galifianakis, Missing Link follows the loveable Mr. Link on an around the world strip from animation studio Laika.
Written and directed by Chris Butler, Hugh Jackman plays Sir Lionel Frost, an adventurer who believes his is the world’s foremost investigator of myths and monsters. A fact that not everyone believes. In the hopes of proving them wrong, he heads out on an adventure to find the world’s most legendary creature. The Missing Link.
Upon his travels, Sir Lionel finds Mr. Link, voiced by Zach Galifianakis, who is a slightly silly, surprisingly smart and soulful beast. A beast who is sadly endangered, as he’s possibly the last of his kind. Lonely, and looking for help, he believes that Sir Lionel is the one man alive who can save him. Leading the pair into the ultimate quest to find Link’s distant relatives in the fabled valley of Shangri-La. Along with Adelina Fortnight (Zoe Saldana), who possesses the only known map to the group’s secret destination.
The film is due out next Easter lovelies, on the 5th April, but the first teaser has been released and is ready to watch below:
