Jake Speed DVD Review

06:30:00

Good Morning Lovelies,

The 80s were full to the brim with action films that could have made up a whole load of cheesy dishes. One of which is being released on Blu-ray for the first time ever today!

Jake Speed stars legend John Hurt, Wayne Crawford and Karen Kopins, in an action film with a difference. Kopins plays a young woman, faced with the ultimate dilemma when her sister is kidnapped. Calling upon Jake, a man from the pages of a classic novel, her fight begins to get her home and to understand Jake’s world.

The film is over the top and has many similarities to Mindhorn, which was out last year. In fact, it feels like the father of that film. A learning curve if you will. Plus, there is so much that the film brings back to life from the 80s that you find yourself falling in love with it, even when you know you shouldn’t be.

Probably not a film that will ever earn critical acclaim, it is an easy and sometimes hard watch, but one that will have you smiling even when you shouldn’t be. The cheesiness is real and it works.

There so, I am giving it...

3 Stars
