Sacha Guitry Four Films 1936-1938 DVD Box Set Review

Good Morning Lovelies,

For lovers of French cinema, there is nothing like the work of Sacha Guitry. Back in the 1930s, his films reigned supreme in telling marvellous stories about life, love, and France that people adored.

In a new box set featuring The New Testament, Let’s Make A Dream, My Father Was Right and Let’s Go Up The Champs-Élysées, some of his greatest works have been restored to highlight his pieces to a new generation. And it seriously works.

As the world falls more and more in love with Paris and French cinema, Guitry’s film presents a world of time gone by and beauty. It is easy to fall under the spell of his heart-breaking and breath-taking features, which highlight to audiences how people can go through breakups or downfalls, but the city is always there to help them.

Guitry was a man with many talents when it came to capturing shots of the city and these films have been chosen for an important reason. They each have a moment to make the audiences think. They each capture the world in a new way. Even now for modern audiences.

This box set is an effective piece of cinema and will no doubt make film fans and new cinema lovers fall for French cinema easily. There so, I am giving it…
