Medici: Masters of Florence DVD Review

Good Morning Lovelies,

Starring Richard Madden in another historical show, Medici: Masters of Florence, sees him joining up with Dustin Hoffman to tell the story of the 15th century Medici family.

Over the course of eight episodes, the show delves into the world of Florence, as Madden’s Cosimo prepares to take over his father’s business. The show takes audiences back and forth between time to show the building relationship between the two, their pasts and what the future may hold.

It is a clever piece of TV with an Inception-style take. You are often finding yourself watching a year within a year within a year. All as a person tells of their dreams within a dream within a dream. Taking historical shows quite literally to a whole new level.

An hour each, the show is easy binge-worthy and you will be glad you picked it up all at once. Cliff-hangers are this show’s friend. However, they won’t be by the time you watch the four episodes and your body feels like it has gone back in time aha!

Madden and Hoffman are a perfect duo and it is great to see a team that is believable in what they seem. Madden really steps out of the shadows to highlight his determination within each role with his vision of Cosimo.

For a days’ worth of TV that will have you glued to the sofa, this historical feature is the perfect Sunday binge. Just don’t watch it with a hangover!

Medici: Masters of Florence has earned itself this...
