Carrie is a horror film that will stand the test of time in my eyes. Starring Sissy Spacek, as the teenager with powers the same as Eleven in Stranger Things, Stephen King’s book to film adaptation is continuing to thrive decades after its original release.

Following Spacek’s Carrie, the film captures the young teen as she deals with her first period, which brings some unwelcome superpowers with it. Not something she wants as she deals with the bullies at school, her very religious mother and her own need for freedom.

King’s book was very much the birthplace of changing the teen drama filled pages everyone was used to and the film does the same. Carrie is a character you hope gets everything she wants, but she is also the villain to many as well. Especially to the people that were trying to help her.

Classic horror films are not made like this anymore, but King is quickly putting the horror world to right. Carrie may have been remade but it is this one that stands out and it is this one that people turn to for inspiration.

It was a film that built the careers of so many people. Spacek, John Travolta and many more became recognisable and still our to this day. Whether it be the prom dressing up scenes or the pig's blood disaster.

There will never be an adaptation like it again and this is why it is such a cult hit. It is a classic, which has earned itself this...
