Christmas is the time in which getting out a board game or playing charades is a must. Each year they cause lots of laughter and lots of arguments! In our house, we try to make sure there is a new one each year, which meant that when Randomise landed on our doorstep I was very happy.

A bit like charades mixed with Pictionary, Randomise allows you to draw, act and describe your way through the game, to see which team is the ultimate randomisers. With up to 40 players allowed at once and aged range between 8 to 80, this is truly a game for the whole family to get stuck into. Plus, it is so easy to put away if an argument does break out.


The aim is to pick a card and randomly choose a word on it. From there you must act, draw or describe the word until your team gets it and a point is added or lost. In our house, this is very much our kind of game.

As our family are a bit spread out, we only had a few players, but we didn’t let that stop us. Delving into the random words, many of us acted the answers out, but having the options to draw or describe was a bonus. I found myself picturing us doing this on Christmas day when there is a bigger group a lot.


The game is super simple, meaning it is great for the entire family. Everyone can get involved and I really liked that it came in such a small box, because it meant that the game could be taken on holidays or family trips to play on the beach or in your rooms during the evening.

It is also the perfect stocking filler or Christmas Eve box gift. The game doesn’t take long to set up and can be enjoyed for hours or less depending on how many rounds you decide to play the game for.
