Voice From The Stone DVD Review

Good Morning Lovelies,

Starring Emilia Clarke, the film, Voice From A Stone, has been getting wide amounts of attention. Not due to its plot but because of the naked scenes that take place. However, if people looked beyond this they would see a thriller story at its heart.

Set in Tuscany during the 1950s, Clarke plays Verena, a nurse who is brought in to help a young child suffering from the death of his mother. Using its location, a lot throughout, the film isn't as gripping a thriller as you would have hoped it to be.

Clarke' Verena is often meant to be spooked into being the hero, but the script falls short of actually letting audiences know why she should be so scared. There are many plot holes within the story and Clarke's character instead comes off as a bit too soft for a supposed spooky feature.

The lack of movement and development also means that the story or plot gets lost when it just starts making sense. No one truly knows what it is that is meant to be harming the family because it seems like it is forgotten halfway through.

Clarke tries her hardest throughout to try and save the story but it just doesn't work well. Not on her part mind you, more so on the overall feel of the film.

There so I am giving it...
