Underworld: Blood Wars DVD Review

Good Morning Lovelies,

The Underworld series has never been one that I have paid much attention to. My brothers and dad enjoy them, but I have always just caught little odd bits and bobs from them. However, this has all changed with the release of Underworld: Blood Wars, which is out today on DVD, Blu-ray and digitally.

Returning as the vampire warrior, Kate Beckinsale plays Selene, who is brought in as war breaks out between the vamps and werewolves surrounding her. However, throughout she is battling her own war, as she fears for her missing daughter Eve.

With not much to compare it too, the film automatically gives the impression that this is going to be all about the clever CGI technology and not the plot. The film is very slow and the characters feel like they haven’t got the energy to fight the demons anymore.

Beckinsale, who has definitely changed the films she has been starring in recently, seems as though she wants to return to them instead of this feature. The CGI doesn’t allow her to portray the role with a sense of truth and there so it doesn’t stand out like others.

A similar feeling is expressed into her co-stars performances also. Charles Dance, Theo James, Tobias Menzies and Lara Pulver all have roles that are not given a lot of exploration, making them hard to connect with.

There so I am giving the film...
