Resident Evil: The Final Chapter DVD Review

08:30:00

Good Morning Lovelies,

Let me start by telling you all that I haven’t seen any of the other films in the Resident Evil franchise. I know this is bad, as I am judging the final one and the others may be better, but I wanted to see what everyone had been speaking about earlier in the year.

Reprising her role in the series, Milla Jovovich, returns to play the most successful game to big screen character of all time, in Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. Playing the iconic zombie slayer Alice, the film begins with an explanation into what has happened and what caused the virus to spread. A great piece for those who haven’t seen the other films, but a bore fest I imagine for those that have.

Sadly, this doesn’t end here though, as the film carries on delivering its plot in a very similar way. Forced to return to The Hive, the plot takes us back in time to the beginning of Alice’s story to see her battle the evil Isaacs, to save the survivors on earth from the undead.

For a concluding part, the story seems to lack that magical final moment's feeling. Plus, if you are like me and haven’t seen the others, it doesn’t make you want to go all the way back to the start to see how her story began. After six films, the franchise’s final story seems very predictable, not very action packed and a lacklustre of a journey for audience members in fact.

With new and familiar faces such as Ali Larter, Ruby Rose and Iain Glen, joining Jovovich on screen, the creators had a lot of people and ways that they could have given the heroine figure a good send off. But they just don’t do it.

There so I am giving the film…
