The Climber DVD Review
07:30:00
Good Morning Lovelies,
Arrow Films have become well known for their amazing talents
at brining old classics back to life. This week, the film, The Climber, is
being released on Blu-ray and DVD for the first time ever, to celebrate the
amazing work of the 70s classic.
Directed and written by Pasquale Squitieri, the film took a
hold of the gangster genre and presented the story of Aldo, a smuggler who is
left for dead, when his local gang boss finds him trying to steal money from
his crew.
The film takes us right back to the start of the genre that
many have been trying to break into at a very creative level. The story was a
fresh piece for the time it was made and there is a continuously powerful sense
that the work of The Godfather was and did influence the director. Especially
when he continued to make films of this genre years after.
This leaves a massive impact on not only the film but the
way in which it springs off the screen to the audience. They are getting a
talented look at the gangster genre that enabled others to make films of the
genre from it.
There so I am giving it…
4 Stars
