I hope you are all well! I have been having a bit of a mad
day today, as I headed to the farm, stroked a rat (a pet one not a random one),
headed to a salon and then returned home for a bunch of yummy food.
And now I am here with all you lovelies to share with you
the first trailer from The Mountain Between Us and more clips…
Now I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love Dame Judi Dench!
Even her name is the coolest thing in the world. I have loved her films for a
long time, as she is one of the greats that my mum shared with me from a young
age.
So, I am very excited to see her return to a role she played
so well in Victoria and Abdul. Take a look at the first trailer for the film
here…
As I am on my travels, I think it is very fitting that a tiny bear who is known for his travels has released his second trailer. Paddington 2, which is due out in cinemas on the 10th November lovelies, has just released its first look trailer.
So, get those marmalade sandwiches ready and sit back and enjoy lovelies…
And how are you all today? Well, I hope! I am currently lying
in bed enjoying a beach break in Blackpool, but I couldn’t leave you all
behind. So, I have brought the sun to the blog with all of the latest clips,
featurettes and trailers from the film and TV world over the weekend.
When a film is labelled the best of the whole year it is time to take notice. And that is what I did with Toni Erdmann!
After a number of magazines labelled it as the must-see film of 2016, I had pure faith it was going to be good, but not as good as it was.
Telling the story of an elderly man known as Winfried, who likes to play pranks on people, the film sees him try to reconnect with his daughter, Ines. Someone who is more focused on business than fun.
As he tries to repair their relationship, he finds that modern life isn't as happy as he once thought. Discovering the dark world his daughter sometimes finds herself in.
The film provides audiences with a comedic look at the difference some generations find themselves in. As the world changes so do the circumstances that people find themselves in and this film reminds audiences to remember to have fun.
It is about the happiness in the little things and the beauty of the world. One that seems very real and not CGI based like other films are.
This has given it the upper hand around the world with audiences, earning a Hollywood remake. One that might not really be needed.
Overall though the film is a reminder to laugh, smile and love life, which is why I am giving it...
Growing up I never watched the TV series, Flight of the Concords. However, after watching the stars of the show in many other TV features and films, I definitely think I may have to get into it. Leaving his Concord character behind recently was Rhys Darby who delved into the world of new show, Short Poppies.
Playing many different characters and starring a lot of comedy faces including Stephen Merchant, Karl Urban, Sam Neill and Bear Grylls, this New Zealand adventure looks at a small town and the people within it.
Following a number of characters over the course of one day, the show takes on the form of interview sessions with many funny and clever moments. The script is a step above many others that have tried to do this and the comedy aspect doesn’t drop throughout. Something that will be sure to draw attention to the writers from many.
However, the real winning point for this show is the way in which Darby makes every character seem real. They feel like people you may meet and a few you actually wish were real. You could be guaranteed that they would make you laugh.
There so this show is a great comedy adventure that is a lot bigger than short. That is why I am giving it...
A few months ago, I reviewed the second season of Hinterland and now to mark the release of the third season on DVD, I have decided to follow it up with my thoughts on the new series.
Following on from the events of the last mission the team faced, the show sees DCI Tom Mathias, played by Richard Harrington, having or trying to come to terms with the scars that his job has caused him. Placing himself far away from the evil he faced before, his believes that the secluded world he has created is the best place possible.
However, this all changes with the introduction of an old case that still has many holes to be filled within it. Not one to leave something so big lying, he joins forces with DS Sian Owens to try and find out what happened. And, to find out who is targeting him.
With two mysteries happening at the same time, the show never lacks the entertainment factor. It is a thrill ride from start to finish, as the characters give us many clues but also keep a lot hidden. Making us want to watch on and on.
Shows such as this one and Broadchurch are paving the way for modern TV and rightfully so. They are original pieces, even after so many seasons. Hinterland is a show that could continue for many years and still hook us all in with its delightful cast, who act so superbly and the wonderful work of those behind the scenes.
Good Morning Lovelies,
Nordic Noir TV is currently having a moment and it is definitely getting better and better with shows such as The Legacy Season Three, which is out on DVD and Blu-ray as of today.
Based on the best-selling books by Maya Ilsøe, the show continues to follow Signe who has big dreams to expand her farm. However, she is not the only one who has big dreams, as those around her also fight to get their dreams heard and met.
Unlike the other shows, there isn’t a really big sense of mystery, however, the investigation that takes place is so good that you are hooked in from start to finish. The show’s creators have obviously taken on board that the author of the show was so involved, as every detail has been thought out and every moment taken into consideration.
There isn’t a moment that you feel you could miss because all of it seems to add up to make the complete series. I hope that there will be another to follow on from this one because you get to know the characters so well from this.
Good Morning Lovelies,
Arrow Films have decided that as we go into the summer, we need to have a little bit of darkness in our lives. So what better way to do that than giving us some classic horror films that will keep you awake on some hot summer nights.
Over the past few weeks, I sat down to watch two of them and I wanted to share my thoughts on them. Starting with Evil Ed...
This classic 80s film will have your stomach turning for many hours afterwards, as it tells the story of film technician Edward, a man who enjoys his job. However, when he is forced to move department and comes face to face with some horrific footage, his mood changes and his reality takes a different turn.
The film takes a very dark turn but one that with eh added 80s flare isn’t as bad as modern audiences may be expecting. It is a classic that you could imagine laughing at with friends on a film night, as you witness that one friend getting scared from it.
There so I am giving it...
4 Stars
And now for my review on Spotlight on a Murderer...
The film is older than the previous one and it shows at times, but the story does manage to hook you in as you seek to find out what has really happened to the Count. Yet, there are a number of loopholes in the story and that does make it hard to keep in tune with the entire plot at times.
And how are you all? Well, I hope! I am ready for today to be over so I can finally enjoy the sunshine this weekend! Who else is with me on this?
But before that I have some very exciting clips from IMAX, Netflix and more to share with you all, to make your Friday even brighter. Take a look and enjoy…
Good Afternoon Lovelies, Starring Jason Bateman, Laura Linney, Esai Morales, Julia Garner, Marc Menchaca, Jason Butler Harner and Harris Yulin, Netflix’s latest TV series, Ozark, has just released its first teaser trailer ahead of its July 21st release date.
Following the Byrdes and their teenage kids, this show is a dark drama looking at capitalism, family dynamics and survival. Portraying an ordinary family, the show takes a turn as it is revealed Marty, played by Bateman, is a Chicago financial advisor who also serves as the top money launderer for the second largest drug cartel in Mexico. However, when things begin to go bad Marty must move his family to Missouri Ozarks.
Don’t miss the first teaser trailer below lovelies...

Good Afternoon Lovelies,
With Cannes Film Festival 2017 well underway, we are getting our first glimpse at some of the films that are going to take over our screens later this year, including the recently premiered film, How to Talk to Girls at Parties.
Directed by John Cameron Mitchell and starring Elle Fanning, Alex Sharp and Nicole Kidman, the film was originally created as a short story, before becoming this big-screen adventure about the birth of punk, first love, and the greatest mystery of all: HOW TO TALK TO GIRLS AT PARTIES.
Set in 1977, the London-based film follows Henry –also known as Enn- and his friends as they embark on the biggest night out of their lives. Not bothered by the Silver Jubilee celebrations taking place in the posh areas of Croydon, the boys work hard to be liked by local punk matriarch Boadicea and her followers by gate-crashing one of their parties. However, what they find is a house full of teenage students: exotic, foreign, unbelievably gorgeous.
Deciding that they are from America, ladies’ man Vic finds the discovery very interesting, whilst Enn falls for Zan, played by Fanning, who is an outsider just like him. Deciding to support her world of punk, parties and music, Enn and Zan find themselves going on the ultimate 24-hour adventure.
The film is yet to announce its release date, but this amazing poster has got me all excited for it...
Since last year, the world has been preparing to welcome back The Mummy to our cinema screens. Now a whole new universe has been announced by Universal Pictures to celebrate the classic horror figures that we know and love from the big screen.
Known as the Dark Universe, the new series – which is also being known as Prodigium - will feature a number of film revivals that have been chosen by Alex Kurtzman, the man behind the upcoming Mummy film. And to celebrate the news Universal have released a new logo and video, with the great music of Danny Elfman, included to prepare us all. Take a look lovelies...
The logo and news comes as the studio announces that Beauty and the Beast director Bill Condon will bring back to life the Bride of Frankenstein. Due out on the 14th February 2019, Bride will announce its leading lady soon, but our Invisible Man and Frankenstein’s Monster have already been found in Johnny Depp and Javier Bardem.
Speaking about the film, Condon said: “I’m very excited to bring a new Bride of Frankenstein to life on screen, particularly since James Whale’s original creation is still so potent.”
“The Bride of Frankenstein remains the most iconic female monster in film history, and that’s a testament to Whale’s masterpiece—which endures as one of the greatest movies ever made.”
To learn more about the Dark Universe and Prodigium, visit www.DarkUniverse.com and www.WelcometoProdigium.com. Welcome to a new world of gods and monsters. Welcome to Dark Universe lovelies!
Since last night, a high number of clips, trailers and more amazing film and TV footage has been released and finally, I have grabbed a moment to share them all with you lovelies.
To celebrate the home entertainment release of the third
season of The Legacy on Monday, I spoke to one of the shows lead actors, Carsten
Bjornlund all about what we can expect from this series, what he is working on
next and why the show is such a hit.
Firstly congratulations on the
show’s third season! What was it about this season that made you excited to
create it?
Thank you very much. We're very proud of this third and
final season. One of the things that exited me about it was that it was
brave. Brave in its structure as well as its themes. And also for me personally
it was quite an exciting challenge to the feelings related to losing a child.
For those who may not know what
The Legacy is about, could you explain to them what it is about?
To me obviously it's a show about family in its direct
sense but also, I think, in a wider sense it considers society as a family and
comments on what we pass on from generation to generation.
What was it like developing this
character even further on the show?
It has been a great joy for me from the beginning to be
with Frederik and in season three even more as we were invited into the writers
den from an early stage. The fact that I was given so much trust really
thrilled me and gave me the lust to dive even further into the darkness of the
character.
The story is about family, what
is it about this genre do you think people find most interesting?
I think, most people can connect to the issues of this
family. Whether you're a sister, a mother or a son it's all very recognisable.
The feelings and mechanisms that run in families are something we all know
about and can relate to. Even if you have lost your family you will still know
exactly what you're missing and why.
Is there a scene that you are
most proud of or one that you would like audiences to look out for? Why this
one?
There's a scene between Gro, Emil and Frederik in which
Gro tries to talk Frederik into being a part of her performance. It takes place
in an old barn loft and was the last scene shot between the three siblings. I
can reveal, there was heavy crying when we were done.
Finally can you tell us anything
about what we can expect to see you in next or what you are working on?
I'm hitting cinemas in August with the first Danish
Sci-Fi in 20 years. It's called “QEDA” and the trailer is available online
already. I'm quite proud of being a part of director Max Kestners’ first feature
film and look forward to showing it to the public.
During summer I will be shooting a new mini-series for
DR, together with Sofie Gråbøl and Connie Nielsen and I hope you'll be able to
catch it in the UK.
Thank you so much
to Carsten Bjornlund for speaking to the blog! Don’t miss the DVDs release on
Monday lovelies.
Good Afternoon Lovelies,
Are you ready to head to the beach now for some NSFW action? No not that kind of beach you filthy animals, I am talking about the Baywatch beach, which has a bit of strong language on it lovelies!
Do you ever fancy a smoothie or cold drink and never know what to go for? I honestly feel like this is my life problem, as I will admit that I am a very fussy drinker.
To me tea and water are my loves, but if I can find something healthy and enjoyable I will always give it a go. So when I heard that Naked Pressed were celebrating Vegetarian Week with some veggie filled flavours I was quick to ask if I could try them.
With fruit, spices and vegetables involved, the juices arrived in a very colourful looking collection that instantly made me smile. However, when I actually read what was in them I was a little worried.
Deciding to trust my favourite veggie juice, I tucked into the carrot filled one first. And I loved it! With the added vanilla flavours it was a really sweet treat. In fact it kind of reminded me of a carrot cake in a bottle. Only healthier!
The next one I tried was the beetroot filled red treat, which was probably the one I was most scared about! I am a little bit weird with beetroot and can take it or leave it at the best of times. So when I opened the bottle I was happy to find that it actually smelt really sweet. The perfect beets had obviously been picked for this one, because unlike the earthy taste you sometimes get with beets, this drink tasted sweet and savoury all at once. I may not go for this flavour again with the carrot one around, but I would never say no to it.
Finally I went with the classic green smoothie which included lettuce. I don't think I have ever had a smoothie with lettuce in, but I was open to trying it. This smoothie reminded me straight away of a replacement lunchtime meal. It was very filling and had a nice taste to it. If you are on the go this might fill you up until you can grab an actual meal. For me though, it mostly felt like an after workout dream.
Overall I was impressed with the mix of vegetables in the smoothies. There were so many different varieties that I wasn't sure how they would all come together, but they have been made with care and attention. All of them work and all of them have a great veggie taste!
Thank you so much Naked Pressed for allowing me to try them. If you would like to try them too lovelies, you can find them in shops now.
How are you all today? Well, I hope! With a very sunny weekend forecasted this week, I am trying to have a very good week, so I am starting the day with these new clips from IMAX, Netflix, Warner Bros and more lovelies!
Since it premiered on Netflix’s, Grace and Frankie, has
taken the world by storm and rightly so lovelies, as it is one of the best comedies
around at the moment!
Starring Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, the show sees the pair
coming to terms with their husbands leaving each of them to be with each other
and the friendship and hatred that the two ladies build together afterwards.
Three series in and the show can still make us laugh as much
as it did the first-time round. Mostly due to the amazing comedy talents of
Lily Tomlin. There is a sense of independence with this show, as it provides a
difference take on an issue that hasn’t been explored before I don’t think,
with added laughs and comedy that reflects the same great elements as other hit
comedies taking on genuine issues, such as Transparent.
However, the show is in a league of its own when it comes
down to the way in which the service has provided it to us. With the ability to
binge-watch all of the episodes at once, this show is one that you can do just
that. Grace and Frankie feel likes friends who have invited you to come around
and you end up watching them explode in front of you. A fly on the wall kind of
show, where you need cocktails and side friends to get you through it.
The show is also a clever piece. With so much news and
evidence highlighting ageism in the world of entertainment, Grace and Frankie
is a huge step in the right direction. People know that Jane Fonda and Lily
Tomlin can lead a show and Netflix have given them this show to do just that.
A
huge middle finger to the other networks or streaming channels around. And even
more so now that the first two seasons have been released on DVD, with the new seasons currently waiting for us all online.
Netflix have taken a great cast and given them a delightful
story to tell and there so I am giving it…
Good Morning Lovelies,
Andrew Garfield was on a roll during the 2017 award ceremonies, as he took his nominations and brought them to life, with his kissing antics at the Golden Globes to his very cute appearance at the Oscars. But it was all down to the film, Hacksaw Ridge that we got to enjoy these moments’ lovelies!
Directed by Mel Gibson and starring Garfield and Teresa Palmer, the film follows Garfield’s young US army medic, who never carried a weapon while treating the injured soldiers he stood next too. Saving lives and the bloody act of war tell this story that should have been told a long time ago. It is a key part of WWII and history in fact.
Garfield gives one of the best performances of his career in this film and makes sure that audiences remember the true story that he is portraying on screen. He has proven that he can do any character that is given to him with ease and heart. However, there is something lack lustre about the rest of the film.
For such an amazing film, there seems to be a quality about it that is missing. Something that is key or that should be there when telling a story of this scale. The heart of the characters co-characters. The men he works with and treats don’t seem to have their stories thought of as much.
Instead, the story goes from being soft to bloody in 30 seconds flat at times, which can be true to war, but the placement of the scenes that make it seem like it is being glorified. Garfield’s character may get this treatment and it is a success but this shouldn’t be the way the rest of the film is shown.
Gibson should have been a bit gentler about the placement of certain moments in the film. He has let it flip around too much and it feels like we are missing important elements to the story and the history of the character.
Growing up I had brothers who all had different kinds of films that they would watch and enjoy. Whilst my brother John enjoyed comedies, thrillers and anything with Denzel Washington in, my brother Robert had very different tastes. He was and still is the person who rushes to the cinema to see films such as Green Street and The Football Factory.
This mix of films made me find out about different genres and since then I have watched everything. Including the sequel to Bonded By Blood, Bonded By Blood 2. With shotguns, strip joints and deals being handed out every few scenes, the film is a classic English gangster film.
Starring Sam Strike and George Russo, the film brings back the old gang as they rule Essex’s criminal underworld. Threatened by a new gang, filled with younger members, the film is an interesting and very over the top gangster film.
Whilst many use the underworld to bring thrilling moments, the action seen on screen in this film is more comedic than dark. There are many predictable moments and you can sense that what they are doing or saying wouldn’t actually happen.
Good Morning Lovelies,
As many of you know, horror films and the whole genre are one of my favourites. I don’t know why but I will be sure to let you know when I do aha! This weekend I sat down to watch The Resident, a new feature-length story from Second Sight.
Created by Black Fawn Films, the film follows Joanna, who finds herself alone with a baby in her new apartment. An apartment that she feels is not quite right, as she hears sinister noises, bangs on the wall and whispering so evil she isn’t sure if it is real or not.
However, as the film continues, Joanna is faced with not only losing her sanity but the place she has moved to, with evil becoming a reality. The story is very dark and often there are moments where you fear you may never sleep without a light on again, but above all, it is a very refreshing horror film.
There is something that is often not quite right, which makes audiences unable to settle and leaves unnerving feeling throughout. This film doesn’t call for a calm moment or a quick moment to relax throughout and that is the best way for a horror film to be.
Good Morning Lovelies,
Arrow Films have continued to share some of their classic films with us all, as they released Wolf Guy on Blu-ray and DVD from today. The cult feature has been given a brand new makeover for its big day and there so I thought it deserved to be watched and reviewed.
Directed by Kazuhiko Yamaguchi, the film follows the plot of a famous manga by Kazumasa Hirai, the film has never been seen outside of Japan, as the film has been held off from being released in the UK and around the world.
The story of Akira Inugami provides audiences into the life of the only survivor of a group of werewolves who relies on supernatural powers to help him solve the weird crimes that are happening around him. From murder, corruption and evil figures trying to take away his power, the film shares with audiences
This 70s classic is a strong martial arts based feature that makes an impact on other future productions, however, there is something lacking in it. The story goes off in a lot of different directions and there never seems to be a real connection between characters and audience members.
When you hear the title, Cops Vs Thugs, you would probably think of a bad modern day gangster film set in the East End. I am right, aren’t I? Well, this is in fact not the case for this new Arrow Films release.
First released in 1975, the film was directed by Kinji Fukasaku and considered to be one, if not, his best single best film. Set in 1963, the film takes us to the Japanese city of Kurashima where a detective called Kuno lives. Faced with some of the toughest gangs around, Kuno works to restore the peace in the place he loves so much by holding nothing back and giving it his all.
What plays out on camera is a delight for the eyes to see. While it is violent and tough, the director has made his actors play out the scenes in an artistic art form that means you can’t take your eyes off them. Even for a second. Every moment has a purpose and every action has a need or a want behind it.
Good Afternoon Lovelies,

Good Afternoon Lovelies,
How are you all? Well, I hope! I am currently looking for a new experience in life and needing a lot of motivation to get me through today. Sadly the Friday feeling hasn’t reached me yet aha!
However, I am sure it will with all these brand new clips and trailers from The Glass Castle and more. Enjoy lovelies...
To mark the release of Cadbury Dairy Milk Big Taste Peanut Caramel Crisp, the UK’s first ever Jaw Gym Class has been unveiled, which will allow chocolate lovers to prepare their jaws for the latest chocolate feast they will be embarking on.
Over 45 minutes, the class, which will be held at London gym 1Rebel, will be hosted by Roman Kemp who will help them get through the routine made up of cardio, stretches, push-ups, chanting and more to get the best jaw workout. Afterwards the session will go into a HIIT full body work out that will make you need all the chocolate you can get lovelies.
Speaking about the event, host and Jaw Gym Class instructor Roman Kemp said: “I think training your jaw for such a flavour-filled bite is about both physical strength and mental preparation. I am used to talking all day, every day for my radio show so I am, basically, the best person to host this as I can draw upon my own daily experiences and routine. Throughout the session I will guide participants to train their mind for the task ahead and help them build their bite so their jaw is in the best shape possible – and we can all enjoy the delicious chocolate together at the end of the class.”
After hearing this exciting news, I decided to get to the gym early with my mum by trying the new early have launched a new share bar, which is Peanut Caramel Crisp flavour. With real peanut pieces and a caramel and peanut filling, the bar has a new peanut design to match and pulls apart in that perfect way many of you will imagine.
As soon as you open the packet, in fact, you are greeted with a gorgeous smell. It is a mixture of pure sweet treats and the realisation that you may not be able to share the bar, even though that is what it is for lovelies.
Seeing as it is a new product, I called upon my regular taste tester, my mum, who was more than happy to trial the bar. As I know she is not a massive peanut butter or peanut fan, unless it is just the plain nuts or in an actually nut form in chocolate, I was a little worried about her reaction. But, she shocked me as always.
Upon finishing her first bite she told me that it reminded her of a Snickers bar. She said that the peanuts gave off a similar flavour, but because of the peanut filling it was a little bit more intense and she liked that about the bar. As I said before, after having your first bite you might not want to share and my mum is prime example, as she now has the bar sat next to her desk in our dining room. And I know that it will probably all be gone very soon aha!
Get your jaw ready lovelies, because this is going to be the next big thing chocolate wise!
Good Afternoon Lovelies,
Are you ready for a little preview from Orange Is The New Black? Starring one of my favourites Taystee, this clip features a possible memory or dream, but overall looks awesome.
Netflix are currently winning across the board with their TV shows and films. Today they have announced that they haven’t finished making our year, as they have released the first look at new miniseries, Alias Grace.
And to get us all excited for it I have some first look images for you all to enjoy...
