Ludwig DVD Review07:30:00
Good Morning Lovelies,
A royal story with a very big difference, Luchino Visconti’s film, Ludwig, continues to be a an interesting and eye-catching portrayal of King Ludwig II’s reign in a world that was not as accepting of his ideals as he would have liked.
Starring, Helmut Berger as Ludwig and Romy Schneider in her reprising role as Empress Elisabeth of Austria, the films is a clever adaptation of a royal reign, but its story is not the winning element of this film.
Whilst the actors and their talents stand out, the key factor of this film is the beauty of the sets and the costumes that were created for it. There isn’t a moment where the elegance of the characters world isn’t reflected and it makes for real cinematic beauty.
Filmed in Munich, this classic film continues to truly shine on and off screen for the masterful way it portrayed a world of different acting and creative talent.
There so I am giving it…
