100 Streets DVD Review08:00:00
Good Morning Lovelies,
Starring Idris Elba and Gemma Arterton, the film, 100 Streets, tells the story of a group of Londoners who are all dreaming or hoping for a better life.
From an ex-rugby player, played by Elba, who is hoping to reconcile with his wife (Arterton) to a cab driver and his wife who are looking to adopt, the film shows the troubles and problems that are placed in everyday homes and lives.
Each character's story makes the film stand out, due to the emotional ways that the screenplay hits at all the right places. However, in this story, the film is a little bit too much at times. Even with brilliant acting from Elba and Arterton.
The film sometimes becomes a bit like an episode of EastEnders, as the lives that are infected present similar themes to recent TV shows. None are really original storylines and the fact that we see them so often on screen does tend to make the film seem as though it is dragging at times. There needed to be an injection of life in this one, however, unfortunately, there isn’t.
There so I am giving the film...
