Pool of London DVD Review07:00:00
Are you a fan of classic films? Well, then you are going to love this next review because the classic film, Pool of London, has been re-released on DVD and on Blu-Ray for the first time and it is already causing quite a stir.
Set in the 1950s, the film follows two seamen as they return from their journey. While one is out going and a bit of a ladies man, the other is a shy and retiring figure in the film. The contrasts between the two make for interesting watching as the plot thickens.
Uncertain of what to expect, the pair plain a diamond heist and mayhem erupts soon after their plans are put into place. If you are looking for the starting point for some of the classic and recent heist films, you have found it.
As a whole, the film isn’t one that makes you sit on the edge of your seat, but it does make you think and reflect. More so on the cinema of now. You see where it started and where the genre came from and that is the most interesting element.
The new edition also features some great new moments that if you are like me are great if you have never seen the film before. Interviews with the cast and some of the crew, give depth to the story and how the actors felt about creating it. With this added content it makes it more cemented in British cinema.
There so I am giving it...
