Good Morning Lovelies,
Penelope Cruz has been one of my favourite stars since
working on her performances in All About My Mother and Volver. She has
continued to grow as an actress and her performances are always through
provoking.
This was the reason I wanted to see the new film MA MA,
starring the actress and directed by Julio Medem. A film about a woman’s battle
with cancer and the relationship she forms with a soccer scout who is
struggling after his wife death.
Unlike what normally happens in films such as these the
casting of Cruz makes it independent from others. Her work in the film is some
of her strongest in a while and it reflects the performances she did at the
start of her career.
Her characters bond with different people and their actions
makes for interesting viewing as you find out what is happening with each of
them. Cruz knows how to make the performance seem real and her actions are ones
that you can relate to.
Cruz is the real bond in this film and without her it
wouldn’t be as successful as it is. She is a force and her character is a
powerful woman who is facing a hard ship in her life.
There so because of this I am giving the film…
