Good Morning Lovelies,

Out today for the first time on Blu-ray Steelbook, exclusively in HMV, the film I have to review for you today is a living legend in the country in which it was made.

The biggest grossing film of all-time in China, The Mermaid, is the story of a rich tycoon who decides to buy a large piece of land and homes. Upon buying the property he finds that he has brought the place where the last surviving mermaids live.

Directed by Stephen Chow, the comedic film has a certain charm and beauty to it, but it misses the beauty that other films have given theirs. Chow has made a film that makes complete sense at moments but moves on and becomes a complicated story.

Viewers should not go into the film thinking that the story is like Disney’s animation The Little Mermaid. It is in a class of its own.

It has a story that is relevant to not only the times it was made but now, even though it is meant to be lighter than it is.

With mermaids being huge at the moment the film is sure to be a success around the world as it is released. However I am giving it…
