GET READY FOR NEW YEAR'S EVE WITH THESE FESTIVE MULLED DRINKS FROM NEIL RANKIN...

Hey Lovelies,

So while I am currently planning and making sure that the blog is ready for the New Year, my home and family are preparing for the biggest New Year’s party that we have had in years. And this means my mum is doing her annual drinks count lovelies, to see if there is enough bottles in the cupboard.

However she has a trick up her sleeve this year lovelies, because I have been a little fairy godmother this year to her, after Neil Rankin and AB InBev and another company were my fairy godmothers, by providing me with these two new mulled beers and wine recipes lovelies, which would make the perfect punches.  And I am so excited to share them with you, thanks to Neil.

Speaking about the drinks, Neil Rankin said, “This Mulled Thai Spiced lager, packed with zesty fresh Thai flavours, really complements the lightness of lager. If you like it hot, add extra chilli but be warned that once warmed up, it really adds a kick. The Mulled ale recipe on the other hand reflects a traditional wintery mulled drink, which is the perfect serve at Christmas festivities. Full of cinnamon, honey, ginger and cloves, the drink smells and tastes just like Christmas. The not-so-traditional cardamom replaces nutmeg as it really compliments the pale ale”.

Here is the recipe for the Mulled Thai Lager drink lovelies:

What You Need:

  • 660ml Budweiser Or Similar Light Lager
  • 4tbsp Palm Sugar
  • 3 Kaffir Lime Leaves
  • 50g Ginger
  • 6 Mint Leaves
  • 6 Coriander Stalks
  • 1 Tsp. Coriander Seeds
  • 1 Lemongrass Stalk
  • ½ A Red Birds Eye Chilli

What You Need To Do:

  1. Remove the outer leaves of the lemongrass before bruising with the ginger using a pestle and mortar or a heavy rolling pin
  2. Place all the ingredients into a saucepan and bring to the boil. Once boiling remove from the heat and cover the pan with a lid
  3. Leave to cool then pass through a fine sieve to remove any bits
  4. When ready to serve, warm in a pan and add a few extra mint and coriander leaves for decoration

And here is how to make the famous, Mulled Ale, lovelies:

What You Need:

  • 660ml Goose Island IPA Or IPA
  • 6tbsp Honey
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick
  • 50g Fresh Ginger
  • 5 Cloves
  • 2 Cardamom Pods Crushed
  • 1 Lemon
  • Pinch Of Salt

What You Need To Do:

  1. Weigh out all of your ingredients and pop into a pan with the ale
  2. Bring to the boil, ensuring you don’t leave the mixture on the hob for too long as this will burn off the alcohol and alter the flavour profile
  3. Leave for a few minutes to cool slightly then pass through a fine sieve
  4. When ready to serve, warm in a pan and add a curl of orange peel or a cinnamon stick for decoration.

So get creating lovelies and have a great, mulled, New Year’s Eve party! These recipes I think are the perfect excuse to use that punch bowl, that we all own but we don’t actually ever use aha! Plus it will look so pretty as the table centre piece. My mum is obsessed with the beer recipe after trying it lovelies and I can tell that it is going to be a permanent feature in our yearly festive celebrations from now on.

Let me know if you make them lovelies!
