TERMINATOR GENISYS REVIEW...

19:55:00

Hey Lovelies,

Throughout the summer, a number of high profile action films were released including the latest film in the Terminator franchise, 'Terminator Genisys' which took over the cinema screens at the start of the season.

Following the familiar characters on a new journey, the film introduces Emilia Clarke and Jai Courtney to the franchise as the familiar Kyle Reese and Sarah Connor, however this time they have a bit of a different flare about them. While Clarke fits into the franchise in an amazing way, Courtney lacks something that doesn't seem to be his fault.

In fact it is more to do with the slow pace of the plot and the way in which it impacts the audience, as it doesn't feel like anything new, even though the film suggests before it starts that it should be. It takes all of the good things from the familiar characters in fact and makes them become unrecognisable.

Even Arnold Schwarzenegger's character doesn't have the same flare in which he did before. He has been slowed down in this film to portray a character that makes his previous times on screen as him seen unrecognisable. Therefore making the film not seem as important as the others.

However if you look at the film as a test to see if the franchise will pick up again, the film does succeed in making you want to watch it to find out what is going to happen. It also succeeds in making sure that audiences are giving their opinion as to what they are looking for in future films in the series.

The film is a little messy at times and it could have been tightened in places, but audiences are voicing their support for the return of the franchise. It would have been better however if they were giving them something stronger.

Therefore I am giving the film...

3 Stars
