LAST OF THE ROMANTICS AND WATERCOLOURS REVIEW...

18:29:00

Hey Lovelies,

While I may not be very romantic, I thought I would get in touch with that side of me to watch new romance films, ‘Last of the Romantics’ and ‘Watercolor Postcards’ lovelies, because the classic films are out for the first time ever in the UK today! Here are my thoughts on the films lovelies, starting with Last of the Romantics…

Last of the Romantics Review:

Following a middle-aged man called Parker, the film sees him try to rebuild his life which is strangely helped when he attends the funeral of a complete stranger. The film, which has won a number of awards, is definitely a game changer when it comes to the story and ideas in which many romance films provide. Especially in recent years.

From the very beginning it is easy to see where the plot is going, but it has such a nice classical feel to it, that there is not a part of the audience that cringes at it too much to want to turn it off. There is a sense of nostalgia within it that makes it its own masterpiece.

The film has worked hard to make sure that audiences are not only seeing the art in which those on screen are trying to create, but the art of the world of film as well, by producing a clear character story that while similar to others, is different within its own right.

Therefore I am giving the film…

4 Stars

Watercolor Postcards Review:

The film begins in a way that automatically makes it not as strong as the film in which I watched previous. It flows off the screen in a manner that sadly seems like a bad TV show, that audiences flick on and off when switching through channels.

While the film tries to tackle subjects in which are hard to explore at times, the film does it in a manner that makes the plot go on a very strange journey, with not much flow. There is a lack of something within the film that could have made it stronger and it is hard to pinpoint the real reason of this.

Throughout the cast are desperately trying hard to make things right and the on screen action is definitely trying to break free from them, but due to the lack of something special within the film it is hard to get to grips with what they are trying to do.

Therefore I am giving the film…
