THE FALLING REVIEW...

09:45:00

Hey Lovelies,

‘The Falling’ was a film in which I had mentioned before on the blog and heard so much about upon its release, but unfortunately missed when it was in cinemas. So when I was given the chance to review it lovelies, I jumped at it because I wanted to see what everyone was talking about.

Starring ‘Game of Thrones’ actress Maisie Williams and Florence Pugh, the film takes audiences on a dark journey set during the 60s, as a bunch of girls at a private boarding school are struck down with a mysterious illness that causes them to faint and to get twitches. However the true story throughout is the relationship between the friends and the way in which the illness and outside influences cause them to drift apart.

Throughout the film you can see the ways in which the illness is being used as a clever metaphor to show the illness that is spreading through society and showing the dark sides of everyone, as the bullies are allowed to win and take out the girls. The creators behind the film have thought of a different way of showing the struggles in society and as a viewer you are left intrigued and interested because it shows a different side to the way in which so many people are left struggling and the depths in which they reach a person.

The acting within the film is also on top form and the cast are a perfect, talented group of people, who all bounce off each other and give some of the best performances of their careers because of it, especially Williams, who manages to make all audience members want to know more about her character from the beginning, hooking us all in.

And therefore I am giving the film a high rating that will not be falling, as I award it with this…

4 Stars
