R.D. LAING ASYLUM REVIEW...

09:50:00

Hey Lovelies,

I always like to learn something new. Every day I hope and dream to learn something new and so when I heard about the film ‘Asylum’ which is a fly on the wall documentary, showing the experiments in which psychiatrist R.D. Laing took part in, I was interested to see why he was such a huge figure.

Following the figure during the 70s, the documentary shows him and his patients as he takes cameras through seven weeks of footage, showing what they did and how he was trying to help them. Much of the footage feels honest and highlights a truth to the audience in which many of the viewers will have never seen before.

It is a film that does not shy away from showing audiences everything that happens in the establishment, between both doctor and patient, as well as the ways in which the patients interact with each other. While many other films or TV shows try to cover up some of the truth, this inside look shows everything and it can be hard to see at times.

However as a viewer it is only showing you the honest truth and therefore because of this, it is an interesting and intriguing watch that will make you feel many emotions as an audience member, which is very unsettling, but needed at times.

Therefore I am giving it…
