Throughout September and October, the BFI will be busy with their festival and celebrating the incredible career of John Waters, the man who made the 50s come to life on the big screen!

And to make sure that his films are greeted with a great appreciation, the BFI Southbank have announced that the man behind films such as ‘Hag in a Black Leather Jacket’, ‘Roman Candles’, ‘Eat Your Makeup’,  ‘Mondo Trasho’, ‘Multiple Maniacs’, ‘The Diane Linkletter Story’, ‘Pink Flamingos’, ‘Trouble’, ‘Desperate Living’, ‘Polyester’, which will be shown in odorama lovelies, ‘Hairspray’, ‘Cry Baby’, ‘Serial Mom’, ‘Pecker’, ‘Demented’ and ‘A Dirty Shame’, will be taking to the stage for a special conversation with the audience, as he discusses all of films and shorts.

Speaking about the new season, John Waters said: “This tribute is like receiving a plenary indulgence from the movie gods above and for once I can be show-biz thrilled without the slightest drop of irony in my thanks. Yikes, respectability…the final outrage”

And as an extra treat, the director has also selected a number of his favourite British films to screen during the season, so don’t miss out on this event lovelies!
