SHAUN THE SHEEP: THE MOVIE REVIEW...

07:54:00

Hey Lovelies,

After growing up with this figure being one of my animated heroes, I was desperate to watch ‘Shaun the Sheep: The Movie’, as I couldn’t wait to see the little sheep on the big screen, because I remember how amazing seeing ‘Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit was’.

The film follows the tiny sheep and his flock, as they outwit their farmer and take a day off in the big city. What happens while they are away from the farm causes mishaps and mayhem to arise and the fun story that is played out will attract audiences from young to old, as the comedic moments runt throughout and the tale is a friendly family piece.

Watching this reminded me of those Christmas mornings when me and my brother would get up and watch the special Aardman features that had been created for that year. There was an excitement to it that made it automatically feel like an original piece that would earn its spot as one of the top child films of the last year. Shaun is a figure that so many know and this film has made him an independent figure for so many more.

Detail is key in this film, as every little figure and motion has been created with expertise and beauty, that makes you forget just how fragile each of the figures really is, yet you are able to see and realise just how much time had gone into making it, because it is so carefully played out with an innocent beauty to it.

While some older audiences, including myself, may be looking for the items that were involved in the ‘Wallace and Gromit’ series, or even a cameo, I am afraid there isn’t one. The animators have kept the film very true to not only the character but the series in which the film has arisen from, which gives it a nice simplicity, which viewers will appreciate. However it would have been an extra gem to see the two characters in which Shaun first starred aside in this piece.

One element in which viewers must look out for though is the Nick Park cameo, as it is a funny and cleaver moment that audiences of Aardman will appreciate as the figure is finally getting the coverage and appearance within this film that he has deserved to have for a long time.

Therefore with this precious animation Aardman have created a true cinematic feature that will entertain all audiences and make them see the ways in which Shaun the Sheep affects everyone with his kind funny nature. He will be a figure that will hopefully or most definitely return to the big screen soon, and he deserves to!

Overall I am giving Shaun and his friends…
