THE BFI ANNOUNCE A SEASON DEDICATED TO LONDON...
11:46:00Hey Lovelies,
I am going to work out in just a second but before I do I wanted to leave you with some big news, as I have even more incredible news from the BFI this morning about a brand new season they have created.
As the most-ambitious season yet, the archives will be opened and launched on the 7th July, starting with ‘The Changing Face of London’ and ending with ‘The City Reimagined’ in September, the event has a whole host of film and TV shows to show throughout including, ‘Performance’, ‘Night and the City’, ‘Bunny Lake is Missing’, ‘Wonderland’, ‘Frenzy’, ‘The London Nobody Knows’, ‘The London Nobody Knows Now’, ‘The Scene from Melbury House’, ‘Pool of London’, ‘The Heart Within’, ‘Sapphire’, ‘Babylon’, ‘The Smallest Car in the Largest City in the World’, ‘The Lane’, ‘Lido’, ‘EastEnders’ and ‘Noted Eel and Pie Houses.’
And on top of this, the season will also explore some of the films and shows that were special to key parts of the city including Soho, who will host a weekender event, the East End and the South Bank. From talks, interviews, documentary showcases, special guests, Q&A sessions, music, panels, and a re-release of the epic film ‘The Long Good Friday’.
The season will be taking us back to the Victorian era, to look at the earliest films, with special treats along the way from musicians, before launching us into the future by looking at the changing of the people who make the city and the way in which the city has changed because of it, through set designers visions and historical comparisons.
If like me lovelies you love the city and everything within it, then do not miss this! It will be the perfect way to lead us into the LFF!
