ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK SEASON TWO DVD REVIEW...

08:48:00

Hey Lovelies,

As many of you know I am preparing for the new season of OITNB by sharing with you all, all of the news in which I receive and learn about it, because I can’t keep my excitement to myself! However today I thought to celebrate the release of Season Two and the upcoming season, I would share my review on the previous season.

After losing a whole weekend to the season, there are moments in season two that I am sure have stuck with all of those that watched it last time! With the relationship between Piper and Alex being broken down, as Alex leaves prison, Piper is left to defend for herself, causing the other inmates to see the strong character behind the weak figure they believed she was. This season allows her character to grow in a lot of ways, but it isn’t all about her, making her a more likable figure in the season than the previous one. She isn’t left crying anymore, but in fact becoming one of the women in her wing.

As the season continues though the most amazing revelations are revealed as to why certain characters are within the prison, and the ones that stick out the most are Crazy Eyes, Taystee and Poussey, as each of their characters are explored so much more. The relationship between Taystee and Poussey in this season is so important and as a viewer your heart goes out to these two characters so much, that whenever they are on screen together you can feel it beating because you know how vital these scenes are.

And with the new season came new characters that have been placed within the show for you to hate almost automatically. For a lot of the season the character Vee will become the hate figure and you will hope that she will get her awakening in which she does towards the end.

The most amazing part of season two though was the script. The way in which every small detail was thought about and written, was so key and so beautiful placed together that the different episodes show the different sides of the characters in such a delicate way. They are explored without seeming like they are invading the characters space, but in a way that makes it seem like the audience are being told the story by them.

There is so many moments in this season that are key to showing female power on screen. The creators have provided a voice for women in the show, that you wouldn’t expect due to the circumstances in which they are in, but it is important as a viewer and as an overall audience that they are listened to, as the characters know how to tell their audience something or how to convey a feeling, which you as a viewer should take in.

Therefore I am giving OITNB season two…
