THE JAMESON DUBLIN INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES THOSE ATTENDING...

Hey Lovelies, 

With the world in morning after the end of the film award season, I am here to spread some cheer, because the loss of award season is about to be filled with the world of film festivals! WOO HOO!

Starting with the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival, who have announced that a whole bunch of stars and filmmakers will be attending the event to showcase new films. Home-grown talent and Hollywood stars including Julie Andrews, Ryan O’Neal, Danny Huston, Kim Cattrall, Vincent Perez, Orla Brady, Jack Reynor and Robbie Sheehan.

As well as these incredible stars, a bunch of award winning directors will also be attending including, Kenneth Branagh, who will show his new film ‘Cinderella’ at the festival, Russell Crowe, Alan Rickman, Carol Morley, Pat Murphy, Gerard Barrett, Pedro Costa and Nils Malmros. The event will also house a number of industry events with Mark Cousins, Angeli MacFarlane, Leo Davis and Margery Simkin.

Speaking about the festival, Gráinne Humphreys, Festival Director, Jameson Dublin International Film Festival said: “This year’s festival will again celebrate the best of contemporary world cinema, bringing the work of both the established and emerging filmmakers to Dublin over 11 glittering days and nights. It’s going to be a very special year - we have a dazzling array of films and a guest list which has taken years to assemble. This festival belongs to our audiences who come in such great numbers, we have expanded the programme to accommodate new venues and screenings, each year we relish the challenge to excite, educate and entertain the best cinema audiences in the world”

Anna Malmhake, the CEO & Chairman of Irish Distillers Pernod Richard also spoke about the festival, saying: ‘Film as an art form has been close to the heart of the Jameson brand for a very long time with the 2015 Jameson Dublin International Film Festival marking Jameson’s 13th and final year as title sponsor of Dublin’s iconic film festival. We are extremely proud to have been a formative partner of the festival and associated with building a superb cultural celebration of film here in Ireland. As part of this year’s festival, we are delighted to be hosting a special Jameson Cult Film Club screening of Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. It has proved to be a hugely popular event since its launch, delivering an unforgettable screening experience for all those who attend.’

The festival will host a whole load of new and old films including, ‘The Price Of Desire’,‘ The Sound Of Music’, ‘What’s Up Doc?’, ‘Barry Lyndon’, as well as a whole host of new films such as ‘The New Girlfriend’, ‘Cloud of Sils Maria’, ‘A Pigeon Sat On A Branch Reflecting On Existence’, ‘The Salt of The Earth’, ‘I Can Quit Whenever I Want’, ‘Phoenix’, ‘Difret’, ‘Blind’, ‘ The Salvation’, ‘The Quiet Roar’, ‘Silent Heart’, ‘Something Must Break’, ‘When Animals Dream’, ‘Force Majeure’, ‘A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night’, ‘Miss Julie’ and ‘While We’re Young’.

This year the festival will also continue to showcase a number of short films, industry tales and new documentaries, featuring ‘The Last Man On The Moon’, ‘Red Army’, ‘The Decent One’, ‘Wheel of Fortune: The Story’ and ‘Legacy of the Fairview Lion Tamer’. Plus the out of the past season will show classics such as ‘In Cold Blood’, ‘Muriel’s Wedding’, ‘Partie de Campagne’, ‘Meet Monica Velour’, ‘The Americanisation of Emily’, ‘The Crowd’ and ‘The Sound of Music’.

And while she is there, along with Kenneth Branagh, Julie Andrews will pick up the Volta award, which is given to those who have contributed to the film industry. 

All of this will be shown during the 11 day festival that will be hosted from the 19th March until the 29th March lovelies in cinemas and venues all over the country, and you can book your tickets now lovelies!
