A NEW YORK WINTER'S TALE REVIEW...

Hey Lovelies,
Goldsman's film directorial debut is weak compared to his
producer and writer credits, as he makes an over the top magical romance piece,
that lacks the true depth of on screen characters and relationships.
The plot of the film was too lovey-dovey to be taken too
seriously and made it hard to watch as it was cringe-worthy. No one could stand
that level of cheese without needing to having a bucket next to them.
It may seem harsh, but the whole film is to over the top
with the love its characters are trying to display and for that it goes over
the top.
As well the magical world in which the characters lived in
made it hard to take anything to serious, as it was all fairies and pixie dust
that reminded me of 'Stardust', but trying to take on the adult world of it and
failing.
Farrell and Findlay are obviously trying to push the boat
out with their characters troubles, but because of the magic mentioned above,
their performances have been made to look weak and unimportant, in the sense of
being over taken with cheese.
And while the film tries to get some interesting cameos to
help save it, they are not right due to their high profile talent, especially
Will Smith!
Overall the file lacks true depth and instead explores the
world of the conventional cheese and for that I am giving it…
