21:34:00

Hello My Lovely's,

For fans of 'The Long Goodbye' this is definitely going to make you happy as those lovely people over at Arrow Films have announced that they are going to releasing the film on Blu-Ray.

The new version of the film will be available to buy for the first time on Blu-Ray from the 2nd December and like always Arrow films always provides us with loads of special features as well!

For those, like myself, who don't know much about this film, I am going to provide you all with a bit of a synopsis aha. Directed by Robert Altman, the film was an adaptation of Raymond Chandler's book and starred Elliott Gould, Nina van Pallandt, Sterling Hayden, as they tell the tale of private eye Philip Marlowe.

When visited by a friend, a mysterious set of events occur causing Marlowe to be brought into investigate the disappearance of the local novelist, however he soon finds himself on the wrong side of some very vicious gangsters. While Altman has tried to stay very true to the books, he has created a iconic 70's world around the male figures in his version, which has caused a few qualities of it to now be frowned upon.

Now as I stated earlier, all Arrow films come with incredible special features that any lover of the film will be dying to see and so here is what you can expect to find on this disc...

  • An interview with director Robert Altman and star Elliott Gould
  • An interview with the legendary cinematographer Vilmos Zsigmond
  • Paul Joyce’s documentary on Robert Altman
  • Elliott Gould Q&A
  • David Thompson on Robert Altman interview
  • Tom Williams on Raymond Chandler

  • Original Theatrical Trailer
  • Radio Spots (So weird not saying TV!)

So what do we think then?!? I think that this would be an incredible gift for any fan to have, so if you want it try and look out for a copy on the 2nd December :)
