WELCOME DISNEY'S INTO THE WOODS TO THE BLOG!!!
01:11:00Hello My Lovely's,
I have to say this is a very exciting piece to be writing!
Yesterday saw the first exclusive image from Disney's up and coming production
'Into The Woods' and with an incredible main cast and songs from the original
stage show, this is definitely not one you are going to want to miss.
Starting production on Monday the 9th of September, the film
has automatically caught the eye of every film buff possible and I feel like it
will do up and until it is released onto DVD and Blu Ray.
Directing the film based on the musical by James Lapine is Rob Marshall, the talented filmmaker
behind “Chicago” and Disney’s “Pirates
of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,”, as well as working with composer Stephen
Sondheim, who provides all of the music within the film, plus an all-new song
for the new adaptation. The film is being shot throughout England and can be
expected on US cinema screens on the 25th of December 2014; however a UK date
hasn't been revealed yet.
Creating a modern
twist on the beloved Brothers Grimm fairy tales, the musical takes and twists
much loved tales including Cinderella, Jack and the Giant Beanstalk, Little Red
Riding Hood and Rapunzel and entwines them in their own take of the stories,
which involve a baker and his wife who long to start a family and the witch who
has placed a wicked curse on them.
That wicked witch however is played by Hollywood's queen of
the screen, Meryl Streep who looks just incredible in the image below as the
horrific figure.
Joining Meryl on screen is an all star cast including...
- Emily Blunt, as the Bakers wife
- James Corden, as the Baker
- Anna Kendrick, as Cinderella
- Chris Pine, as Cinderella's Prince Charming
- Johnny Depp (BRILLIANT!!!), as the big bad Wolf
- Lilla Crawford, as Little Red Riding Hood
- Daniel Huttlestone, as Jack
- Tracey Ullman, as Jack's Mother
- Christine Baranski, as the wicked Stepmother
- MacKenzie Mauzy, as Repunzel
- Billy Magnussen, as Rapunzel's Prince.
The film also has an amazing support cast and an award-winning production team which means this film is going to be a huge success from the looks of it. To be honest I had never heard of it before I started to read about it when it was sent to me, and already I want to see it.
From being an on stage phenomenon to a big screen performance I wish the cast the best of like with this, as they perform some of the most famous songs of all time, including “Children Will Listen,” “Giants in the Sky,” “On the Steps of the Palace,” “No One Is Alone” and “Agony,” among others.
So what do we all think then? Let me know on Twitter at @LetsStartNow18
Until Next Time...
